Job Summary for Fleet Lease Manager

The Fleet Lease Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of the Fleet Lease team to ensure the accurate and timely processing of fleet lease vehicles. This position provides leadership and direction to the team while serving as a key point of contact for customers and internal departments.


The Fleet Lease Manager is responsible for overseeing vehicle coordination, documentation, pricing, transportation, and sale readiness while maintaining a high level of customer service and supporting efficient auction operations.

Management Responsibilities for Fleet Lease Manager

  • Provides day-to-day leadership and direction to the Fleet Lease Inside and Outside Coordinators and other assigned support staff.
  • Assigns and prioritizes workloads to ensure operational needs, customer expectations, and sale deadlines are met.
  • Provides training, coaching, and ongoing support to team members while monitoring performance and accountability.
  • Ensures team members follow established company policies, procedures, and customer requirements.
  • Assists with staffing, scheduling, performance management, and employee development within the department.
  • Promotes effective communication and teamwork within Fleet Lease and across other auction departments.

Other Responsibilities for Fleet Lease Manager

  • Oversees the transportation, check-in, preparation, and sale readiness of fleet lease vehicles.
  • Monitors inventory and vehicle status to identify and resolve delays, discrepancies, or other issues that could impact the sale process.
  • Ensures vehicle information, condition reports, charges, floor prices, and other sale-related information are entered and maintained accurately.
  • Oversees the preparation and distribution of run lists and other required sale documentation.
  • Ensures vehicle files, titles, eligibility documentation, block tickets, bills of sale, and other required records are complete and accurate.
  • Serves as a primary point of contact for fleet lease customers, providing updates, addressing concerns, and coordinating timely resolution of operational issues.
  • Builds and maintains strong working relationships with customers, transportation providers, vendors, and internal departments.
  • Partners with operations, transportation, titles, accounting, and other departments to ensure vehicles move efficiently through the auction process.
  • Promotes auction services and identifies opportunities to strengthen customer relationships and grow business.
  • Develops and maintains processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, communication, and overall service within Fleet Lease operations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities for Fleet Lease Manager

  • Strong knowledge of vehicle inventory, transportation, sale preparation, and auction processes preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to provide direction, coaching, and accountability to team members.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and high-volume workflows in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with customers, vendors, and internal business partners.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work in both office and outdoor auction environments as needed.

Education and Experience for Fleet Lease Manager

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • At least three (3) years of experience in auction operations, fleet services, transportation, logistics, customer service, or a related field.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with computers, data entry systems, and standard business software applications.
  • Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record required.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

Physical Requirements for Fleet Lease Manager

  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to move throughout auction facilities, vehicle lots, and service areas as needed.
  • Ability to review documentation, computer screens, and vehicles as required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and electronically.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors and be exposed to varying weather conditions as needed.
