Farmers EC is currently seeking a Line Superintendent to join our rapidly growing electric cooperative. The Line Superintendent directs all operational and field activities required to construct, maintain, and restore power across our overhead and underground electrical systems. Serving as a key operational leader, this role collaborates closely with cooperative management, line crews, contractors, and members to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient service delivery.


Key Responsibilities

  • Direct, schedule, and supervise daily construction, maintenance, and emergency service restoration activities for overhead and underground distribution lines.
  • Provide direct supervisory oversight, training, performance management, and guidance to linemen and contractors.
  • Create and implement standard operating procedures while enforcing compliance with RUS, NEC, NESC, OSHA, and EPA regulations and safety codes.
  • Perform regular field inspections of work in progress to ensure safety standards and quality specifications are met.
  • Respond to, investigate, and resolve member inquiries, service irregularities, and outage issues promptly and professionally.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of field documentation, including time sheets, safety reports, accident investigations, and staking sheets.
  • Oversee proper maintenance, inspection, and safe operation of tools, heavy machinery, bucket trucks, and fleet vehicles.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in the construction, operation, and maintenance of electrical distribution, transmission, and substation systems.
  • Leadership: At least 3 years of supervisory experience as a Foreman or in a related leadership capacity.
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; completion of T&D Solution Program or higher degree in a related field preferred.
  • Technical Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of RUS, NEC, NESC, and OSHA codes, safety practices, and first aid procedures.
  • Skills: Strong organizational skills with sharp attention to detail, along with exceptional oral and written communication abilities. Proficiency with computers and standard office software is required.
  • Licensing & Physical: Valid Texas driver's license required (Commercial Driver's License/CDL preferred). Ability to operate heavy equipment, perform physical field inspections, and participate in the supervisor on-call rotation schedule.

Position & Compensation Details

  • Salary & Benefits: Competitive salary based on experience, supplemented by a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, paid time off (PTO), paid holidays, paid training, a retirement pension plan, and a 401(k) plan.
  • Work Environment & Schedule: Full-time, exempt position based out of our Greenville, Texas operations area. Work involves both office and outdoor field conditions in varied weather, requiring irregular hours, weekends, and holiday coverage during emergencies or system restorations.
