Raba Kistner is seeking a detailed-oriented, dependable Project Field Coordinator - CoMET to join our Consultants team in Gonzales, LA. The Project Field Coordinator will be assigned to a project site where a team of technicians will serve the project. The Project Field Coordinator responsible for overseeing the activities of the RK team and coordinating the execution of CoMET field testing, sampling, and inspection services. The Project Field Coordinator will serve as the on-site point of contact for daily coordination of inspection and testing requirements and will serve as the company appointed liaison for communicating between on-site field teams and management. They will be required to attend daily and/or weekly coordination meetings with owner, contractor, and consultants. The Project Coordinator is responsible for the efficient coordination of CoMET projects including review of project documents, project set-up, technical review of observation and testing reports, and client communication.

  • Lead field team, provide guidance, resolve on-site challenges, and ensure staff have the necessary resources and support to perform their job duties.
  • Coordinate with staff the day’s priorities and deadlines for field and on-site laboratory services with both CoMET and other departments.
  • Assist dispatcher in making daily individual technician assignments.
  • Assist Supervisor in making technician assignments and setting priorities of testing material for construction materials projects.
  • Meet or communicate with Client’s representatives, contractor's supervisors, architect/engineer's representatives or other project leaders to discuss and coordinate the immediate and future project needs pertaining to testing, sampling, inspection, and/or reporting of construction materials.
  • Endeavor to ensure the safe utilization, storage and maintenance of all nuclear gauges used at the project site.
  • Update Supervisor and staff on progress and delays.
  • Notify Supervisor of the status of resources, to include increasing or reducing staff, equipment needs, etc.
  • Promote safe usage of laboratory equipment.
  • Meet established project deadlines.
  • Contact Supervisor for priorities, deadlines and special work assignments.
  • Conduct and support field inspections and laboratory testing, as required.
  • Routinely informs Supervisor of workload and overtime requirements.
  • Assist Supervisor in annual performance reviews of technicians in which employee has direct knowledge of their performance.
  • Assist engineering staff with special assignments.
  • Maintain daily check on time records of technicians.
  • Perform specialized field services that are not routinely requested and troubleshoot problem as they occur.
  • Assist Supervisor with the processing of reports as well as other administrative duties.
  • Oversee the maintenance of laboratory and field equipment and arrange for procurement of new equipment, as needed, and as approved by Supervisor.
  • Oversee and document technician training and testing proficiency.
  • Notify Corporate Safety & Risk Manager of all accidents.
  • Notify Supervisor of all potential disputes that may lead to legal claims or litigation.
  • As requested, support Management to settle disputes or defend against litigation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (G.E.D.)
  • Five (5) years or more of technical experience in field/ laboratory testing. 
  • Must possess at least 2 current relevant industry certifications from ACI, NICET, TXDOT, ICC, PTI or other comparable industry certifications as required:
    • ACI Field Grade 1 (preferred)
    • ACI Concrete Strength (preferred)
    • TxDOT SB102
    • ICC Soils 
    • NICET Level I 
  • Possess a valid driver’s license within the applicable jurisdiction and meet company’s auto insurability requirements

Noise level for this position is Moderate (business office with computers/printers, light traffic, etc.)

Position may require protracted or irregular hours. Flexibility to work irregular hours is necessary due to client needs. Work responsibilities require out of town travel to Raba Kistner offices, client offices and project locations. Able to travel to project sites and maneuver over rough and uneven terrain.
