Job Summary:Â
The System Engineer - Networking Services will lead the design, implementation, and lifecycle management of global network and infrastructure systems. This role is responsible for developing secure, scalable network architectures, ensuring operational continuity, supporting compliance initiatives, and serving as a technical escalation point within the IT organization. In addition to strong networking expertise, the ideal candidate must have hands-on experience with Cisco, Microsoft technologies, including Azure, Hyper-V, VDI, Microsoft Intune, Active Directory, Windows Server, and related cloud and endpoint management platforms. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in networking and information security, exceptional problem-solving skills, and a passion for staying up to date with technology trends.
This position is be based in Glen Rock, PA
 Essential Functions:
- Design, recommend, and implement global networking solutions that align with business goals and industry best practices.
- Develop and maintain the global network architecture and long-term strategy.
- Research, evaluate, and recommend emerging technologies to enhance security, performance, and scalability.
- Collaborate with OT and manufacturing teams to secure and integrate production systems.
- Monitor, maintain, and optimize networking devices and services.
- Manage the full system lifecycle of all network infrastructure, including upgrades, patching, and hardware refresh.
- Maintain infrastructure services including firewalls, switches, routers, VPNs, SAN/NAS, and web servers (IIS).
- Implement and enforce network security policies, including segmentation, encryption, and access control.
- Participate in cybersecurity assessments, audits, and incident response activities.
- Update IT security policies and procedures in alignment with industry frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, GDPR, 21 CFR Part 11).
- Provide Tier 3 support and mentor junior IT staff.
- Assist with helpdesk escalations and complex technical issues.
- Ensure business continuity and disaster recovery planning/testing for network services.
- Collaborate with helpdesk, infrastructure, and application teams to ensure seamless support and service delivery
- Lead or contribute to network-related projects including cloud migrations, segmentation, automation, and DR improvements.
- Provide guidance and training to other members of the IT team and end-users in security best practices and procedures.Â
- Coordinate with vendors, service providers, and subcontractors to ensure SLA compliance and project success.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Support security policies and participate in audits (NIST, ISO, GDPR, 21 CFR Part 11).
- Participate in incident response and security assessments.
- Provide training to IT team members on infrastructure best practices.
- Support endpoint and hosting technologies as needed.
- Administer software distribution and automation tools.
- Contribute to infrastructure budgeting and planning.
- Participate in infrastructure modernization and cloud migration initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Specifications:
Â
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5–7 years of experience in network engineering, network architecture, or related roles.
- Deep understanding of Cisco network technologies and protocols: LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching, firewalls.
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity practices, including network segmentation, encryption, and monitoring tools.
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks: ISO 27001, NIST, 21 CFR Part 11.
- Experience working with hybrid environments, including on-premises infrastructure and Microsoft Azure cloud services.
- Hands-on experience with SAN/NAS technologies, firewall management, and Microsoft IIS.
- Proven experience with Microsoft technologies, including Active Directory, Windows Server, Group Policy, Azure, Hyper-V, VDI, Microsoft Intune, endpoint management, and related administration tools.
- Desirable:
- Certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, CISSP, CompTIA Network+, Microsoft, or equivalent.
- Experience with:
- PowerShell scripting and automation tools.
- Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle databases.
- Software distribution and patching systems.
- Backup and DR platforms.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with application, infrastructure, and support teams.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs, bend, and climb stairs as needed.
- Ability to travel to company sites as required.
