Position Summary

Buckskin Mining Company is a surface coal mine located 10 miles north of Gillette, Wyoming within the Southern Powder River Basin. The mine delivers its coal to numerous customers throughout the United States and has shipped more than 406 million tons of high-quality, low sulfur coal to its customers.

Buckskin is currently seeking a highly motivated candidates to join our team as a Equipment Operators. Eligible applicant(s) must be able to work safely in a surface coal mine environment while performing duties of this position. This person(s) must have a history of producing quality work with attention to detail and completing the job right the first time.  Training is provided.

Intermediate

Primary Responsibilities and Duties

• Operate a variety of Mining Equipment while hauling and dumping on smooth to extremely rough surfaces.
• Knowledgeable of equipment in respects to pre and post shift inspections.
• Ability to perform work in a safe manner with minimal supervision, while following best practices and in accordance with company policies.
• Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

• May Require a high school diploma or its equivalent with previous years of experience in the field or in a related area.
• Must possess working knowledge skills and abilities for position.
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management/supervision.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools and layout tools safe and efficiently.

Requirements

• Able to meet all physical requirements. 
• Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Able to work rotating shift work, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required by the workload
