Summary of Job
The position serves as assistant to the COEX Operator. The goal of this cooperative effort is to safely and efficiently meet or exceed all manufacturing and quality standards. The primary responsibilities of the Assistant Operator will be the set-up and operation of the winder, various slits, and perforations. In addition, the Assistant supports the Operator when webbing the machine, during start-up, and any other tasks to allow the Operator to fulfill the duties necessary to produce the highest quality finished product. The Assistant Operator is expected to learn how to operate the COEX production line for periods up to half a shift. The Assistant Operator will be expected to work where needed based on the company’s business needs.
Essential Functions and ResponsibilitiesÂ
- Set up and operate the COEX production line for various products.Â
- Provide training for new employees at the COEX line
- Safely and efficiently produce products on assigned production area.
- Always wear Personal Protective Equipment as required.
- Read a tape measure to 1/32”.
- Assist maintenance as required and perform minor maintenance repairs and PMs.
- Must be able to communicate (read and write) in English.
- Must be able to follow both written and verbal instruction
- Keep work areas clean following 5S guidelines.
- Keep all tools and equipment in proper places.
- Assist with or operate other converting or manufacturing equipment and perform preventative/autonomous maintenance within the plant as assigned.
- Escalate safety, quality, performance issues in accordance with our site escalation matrix
- Other duties as assigned.
- Cross train at other extrusion or converting assets
Physical Environmental Demands:Â This position requires the following on-the-job time performing physical activities:
- Work in temperatures of 100 plus with high humidity for up to 12-hour shifts.Â
- Frequent Standing and walking, stooping, and squatting, bending, some kneeling and crawling, occasional bending and twisting, occasional stair climbing.
- Pushing/Pulling 30 – 50 pounds.
- Occasional reaching, repetitive use of wrist, hands and fingers, frequent use of shoulders, elbows, hips, knees, and ankles.Â

- Full time.
- Shift work: 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM and 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM on a 2,2,3 schedule.
- Overtime expected per business demand.
