Description

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily clinical operations and nursing staff within the outpatient clinical setting. This role ensures the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care by supervising nursing and support staff, coordinating clinical workflows, and serving as a clinical resource and liaison between staff, providers, and patients.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Supervises, schedules, and coordinates the daily work of RNs, LPNs, medical assistants, and other clinical support staff.

Conducts performance evaluations and provides ongoing coaching, training, and mentorship to nursing staff.

Assists with the onboarding and orientation of new clinical team members.

Addresses staff performance and conduct concerns in partnership with Human Resources.


Essential Duties / Responsibilities:

Oversee daily clinical operations to ensure efficient patient flow and adherence to clinical protocols.

Monitor patient care delivery to ensure compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards.

Serve as a clinical resource for staff, providing guidance on complex or escalated patient care situations.

Collaborate with providers and clinical leadership to develop and implement care protocols and process improvements.

Manage staff scheduling to ensure appropriate coverage across shifts.

Ensure compliance with infection control, safety, and regulatory requirements.

Participate in the hiring, training, and evaluation of clinical staff.

Provide direct patient care as needed to support clinical operations.

Other duties as assigned within the scope of practice.

Requirements

Education and Experience:

Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license.

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.

Clinical nursing experience in an outpatient, procedural, wound care, vascular, or similar healthcare setting.

Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred.

Associate's degree in nursing or BSN required.
