GovFirst is seeking an alert, safety-conscious Road Monitor to patrol and monitor assigned roadways in Woodbridge, VA.Â
The successful candidate is responsible for:
- Patrol and monitor assigned roadways and surrounding areas.
- Operate and monitor a 4x4 vehicle while performing roadway patrol duties.
- Identify and promptly report accidents, disabled vehicles, debris, hazardous conditions, traffic congestion, and other roadway issues.
- Notify supervisors, dispatch, emergency responders, or other designated personnel when assistance is required.
- Maintain accurate daily activity, patrol, and incident logs.
- Document roadway conditions, incidents, locations, and actions taken.
- Provide motorists with basic assistance and safety directions when authorized.
- Observe and report conditions that may create hazards to motorists, pedestrians, or roadway personnel.
- Follow established traffic control procedures, safety requirements, and reporting protocols.
- Communicate clearly with supervisors and designated personnel using telephone, radio, and other communication systems.
- Remain alert, attentive, and available throughout the assigned shift.
- Work safely around moving traffic, roadway maintenance activities, and other potentially hazardous conditions.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisors or project management.
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Previous roadway, transportation, security, field monitoring, patrol, or related experience preferred.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Must have a 4x4 vehicle and operate safely.
- Ability to identify and accurately report roadway hazards, incidents, and changing traffic conditions.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally by phone, radio, and in writing.
- Ability to maintain accurate activity and incident documentation.
- Ability to remain alert and attentive for extended periods while performing roadway monitoring duties.
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment when responding to roadway conditions.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and around active traffic.
- Ability to follow safety procedures, traffic regulations, and established reporting protocols.
- Availability to work assigned shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be dependable and able to respond promptly to roadway incidents and changing conditions.
Required Education & Credentials:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Required Work Authorization:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Required Licenses, Certifications & Screening:
- Valid Virginia Driver's License in good standing required.
- Acceptable driving record required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be capable of safely operating a 4x4 vehicle.
