We are seeking a driven and results-oriented Design Quality Engineer to support product quality throughout the entire product lifecycle, from new product development and validation to manufacturing readiness and continuous improvement. Working closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams, this role leads product testing and evaluation, investigates quality issues, performs root cause analysis, and implements corrective actions to ensure products meet design intent, regulatory requirements, and company quality standards. Core Responsibilities
Â
Quality Assurance, Compliance & Continuous Improvement
- Monitor and support product quality performance for assigned products
- Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory, safety, and internal quality standards
- Analyze product and process data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product reliability and performance
Product Testing, Validation & Launch Support
- Plan, coordinate, and execute testing and evaluation of new products prior to mass production
- Develop and review test plans, procedures, and reports to validate design performance
- Identify product risks and failure modes during testing and recommend design or process improvements
- Support design validation, verification, and production readiness activities
Project Coordination & Cross-Functional Support
- Lead or support testing-related project activities, timelines, and deliverables
- Collaborate with design engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers to resolve quality concerns
- Provide technical support to production and quality teams during product launch and ramp-up
- Contribute to team workload balancing and continuous improvement of team processes
Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare clear, concise technical reports summarizing test results, data analysis, and findings
- Maintain documentation in accordance with quality management system requirements
- Communicate technical information effectively to cross-functional stakeholders
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
- Solid understanding of engineering fundamentals (mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, materials science)
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and basic electrical schematics
- Basic understanding of product testing and evaluation methods
- Familiarity with structured problem-solving and root cause analysis approaches (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone)
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and draw conclusions (strong Excel skills preferred)
- Strong technical writing and documentation skills
- Effective communication and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently with limited supervision
Preferred Qualifications
- 2–5 years of experience in a manufacturing or product development environment
- Experience with product testing, validation, or laboratory evaluation
- Exposure to quality engineering tools and methodologies (e.g., FMEA, control plans, CAPA)
- Hands-on mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting experience
- Experience with AutoCAD or other CAD tools
- Experience with data tools (e.g., Excel advanced functions, Access, SQL)
- Knowledge of outdoor power equipment or similar products
- Master’s degree in a related engineering field
- Lean or Six Sigma certification (e.g., Green Belt)

Education Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline (e.g., Industrial, Manufacturing, Electrical, Mechatronics)
