ABOUT THE ROLE

VOX Kitchen is looking for a dependable and guest-focused Floor Assistant to support our front-of-house team. This position plays an important role in keeping the dining room clean, organized, and running efficiently while assisting with food delivery and providing excellent guest service.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Clear used tableware between courses and provide clean tableware as needed.

• Clear and reset tables promptly after guests leave.

• Transport dishes, glassware, silverware, and other tableware to designated dishwashing areas.

• Clean and sanitize tables, chairs, booths, and surrounding dining areas between seatings.

• Maintain clean floors and guest areas throughout the shift.

• Assist with prompt and accurate food delivery to guests.

• Respond professionally and promptly to guest requests.

• Assist servers and other front-of-house team members as needed.

• Thank guests as they leave and help maintain a welcoming dining environment.

• Attend required employee meetings and training sessions.

• Perform other duties consistent with the position and restaurant operations as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 6 months to 1 year of restaurant, hospitality, or similar experience preferred.

• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with guests and team members.

• Strong attention to detail, cleanliness, and food-safety standards.

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

• Ability to reach, bend, stoop, stand for extended periods, and frequently lift up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Ability to safely handle and transport hot plates and dishes using appropriate safety procedures.

• California Food Handler Card required within 30 days of hire. Employer-paid training/examination and compensated training time will be provided in accordance with California law.

• Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification required within 60 days of employment if job duties include serving or delivering alcoholic beverages.
