Job Description

Steel fabrication company needs a Manufacturing Engineer to coordinate activities including systems fabrication, tooling, welding, robotics, and mechanical assembly. Will provide engineering support to improve product quality and reduce production costs.

  • Work on plant layout and process improvement projects.
  • Will work on automation or robotics projects. Must have some ability to write control logic for PLC’s and CNC control.
  • Conducts studies to maximize workflow and process utilization.
  • Ensures that product designs, documentation, and assembly instructions are accurate, maintained and effective.
  • Develops work instructions, designs assembly fixtures, tooling, and manufacturing equipment.
  • Reviews production reports and solves manufacturing and maintenance problems, reducing costs and preventing shipping delays.
  • Develops safe work practices. Seek opportunities for improvements in product and process quality.
  • Works with employees to resolve problems and avoid grievances.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Welding, or similar field. Will consider partial degree.
  • Should have at least three years’ manufacturing engineering experience, preferably with fabricated or assembled products made of steel or steel parts.
  • Should have experience working in an automated environment.
  • Must have experience setting time standards, lean manufacturing, line balancing, and process flow.
