SUMMARY Â
BLUvera, Mortenson’s vertically integrated manufacturing and fabrication business, is seeking a Lean Engineer I or II to help drive continuous improvement across a growing manufacturing operation. This hands-on role will partner with project leadership and frontline teams to improve safety, eliminate waste, streamline processes, and optimize workflow.
The Lean Engineer will facilitate Kaizen events, implement 5S and standardized work, improve production flow, and help teams sustain measurable improvements. As BLUvera continues to scale and introduce new products, this role will have the opportunity to help build efficient, repeatable processes and a culture of continuous improvement from the ground up.

RESPONSIBILITIESÂ
- Partner closely with project leadership and craft workforce to establish trust and gain buy-in for lean approachesÂ
- Provide regular feedback to project leadership and the group lean leader on lean approaches and cross-project sharingÂ
- Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levelsÂ
- Support continuous improvement efforts onsiteÂ
- Coordinate and facilitate improvement events with project team and expertsÂ
- Reinforce continuous improvement principles and ensure ongoing application of toolsÂ
- Support forepersons in observing work, assessing adherence to standardized work, and addressing abnormalitiesÂ
- Encourage crews to brainstorm and implement ongoing improvementsÂ
- Support project team, field leaders, and trade partners in applying 5S practicesÂ
- Communicate 5S standards during onboarding of new workforce and trade partnersÂ
- Create plans and resources to achieve 5S standardsÂ
- Support flow and work management onsiteÂ
- Participate in flow schedule development for work phasesÂ
- Support superintendents and forepersons in daily planning, work management, and learning approachesÂ
- Promote one-piece flow for self-perform work and reduce batching practicesÂ
- All other duties as assignedÂ
Â
QUALIFICATIONSÂ
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Engineering, or related degree OR Equivalent combination of education and technical/field experience demonstrated over multiple years of related work experienceÂ
- Internship experience in construction or manufacturingÂ
- Prior experience on construction job sites preferredÂ
- Current driver’s licenseÂ
- Solid understanding of continuous improvement principles and their applicationÂ
- Excellent reliability and follow-through on commitmentsÂ
- Effective trainer and facilitatorÂ
- Ability to influence through relationship buildingÂ
- Proactive self-starter with a growth mindsetÂ
- Strong sense of curiosity and optimismÂ
- Effectively work with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levelsÂ
- Active listening and effective communication skills, open to diverse input and feedbackÂ
- Ability to travel up to 75%Â

The base pay range for this role is $78,800 - $98,500. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%).Â
Â
Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity. This position is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan.Â
