This is a hands-on position in a heavy industrial environment. This role plays an essential part in keeping our manufacturing operation running and ensuring customer orders are shipped accurately and on time. • Safely unload steel and other materials from delivery trucks using forklifts and other material handling equipment.
  • Move and stage large and heavy steel products throughout the facility and between production areas.
  • Transport raw and work-in-process materials to welding, paint, and other production departments as needed.
  • Stage finished steel products for shipment according to customer orders and production schedules.
  • Load finished products safely and securely onto trucks for shipment.
  • Verify quantities, part numbers, dimensions, and other shipping information before loading.
  • Assist with shipping and receiving paperwork, bills of lading, packing lists, and other documentation.
  • Record material movements and transactions using inventory or warehouse management software.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Material Handler, Shipping & Receiving Clerk, Forklift Operator, or similar role in a heavy industrial manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Forklift experience required; previous forklift certification is a plus.
  • Experience handling steel, metal, oversized materials, or other large/heavy products required.
  • Experience loading and unloading trucks and preparing materials or products for shipment.
  • Basic computer skills; experience with inventory management, warehouse management, or ERP systems is a plus.
  • Ability to read shipping documents, packing lists, work orders, and other basic documentation.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and safe material-handling practices.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, climb, and reach throughout the workday.
