POSITION SUMMARY

  • Lead Design & Development efforts and commercialize significant programs.
  • Provide input into and support for opportunity development.
  • Increase reliability and profitability of existing product lines through identification of and leading process improvement projects. 
  • Develop new processes to support business growth and continuous improvement
  • Onsite, Fort Wayne, IN

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  


  • Meets with customers and internal staff to understand and document product requirements, features, benefits, and performance characteristics. 
  • Plans, coordinates, and documents trials to meet requirements. 
  • Works with suppliers to identify and specify appropriate materials. 
  • Develops manufacturing methods and coordinates the design of new process equipment. 
  • Creates product specifications, quality plans, test methods, work instructions, risk assessments, and other documentation. 
  • Ensures the smooth release of new products to manufacturing once development is complete. 
  • Optimizes and improves processes and systems once products have been released to manufacturing. 
  • Develops cost models and budgets for trials, commercial production, and capital expenditures. 
  • Manages complex projects with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, stay organized, meet cost, and time budgets, and drive to completion. 
  • Prepares reports, presentations, and spreadsheets.


Performs any other function or responsibility as assigned  


Additional REQUIRED Qualifications/Skills:  

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, electrical engineering, or similar technical degree.
  • Training and/or job related experience in project management.
  • 5 years minimum web converting manufacturer.
  • 10 years minimum web converting manufacturer in a technical role.
