Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and safety-driven Distribution Dispatcher to support the reliable operation and restoration of the electric distribution system. This role is critical to ensuring timely response to outages, coordinating field crews, and maintaining accurate system records. The ideal candidate thrives in high-pressure environments, communicates effectively, and upholds the highest standards of safety and compliance.
- Safety Leadership: Promote and enforce organizational Safety and Health programs across all dispatch operations.
- Policy Adherence: Follow all company and departmental procedures, ensuring compliance with operational standards.
- Ethical Conduct: Uphold corporate compliance policies and demonstrate integrity in all decisions.
- Communication Operations: Operate communication systems (e.g., radios, phones, digital platforms) to coordinate field activities.
- Crew Coordination: Monitor crew locations and job progress to optimize response times and resource allocation.
- Outage Response: Dispatch service personnel to address outages, emergencies, and system abnormalities.
- System Restoration: Authorize energizing and restoration of distribution facilities in accordance with safety protocols.
- Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate logs of outages, restoration activities, and equipment status.
- Equipment Monitoring: Track and report abnormal or defective equipment to ensure timely maintenance and replacement.
Qualifications
- Rotating shift work required | 3 or 4 -12 hour shifts | Will receive 1.5x pay for 40+ hours
- Must maintain a high availability for call-out response.
- Due to call-out responsibility, applicants must live within or be willing to relocate to within 30 minutes of Fort Wayne, IN
- Bachelor’s degree in any field OR
- Associate’s degree in electrical or electronic technology OR
- high school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience with technical customer support and service, including successful multi-tasking and handling of multiple programs/screens
This is a Permanent position based out of Fort Wayne, IN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.00 - $30.92/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
