This position is to perform general maintenance work in and around the plant as well as assist other maintenance personnel learn equipment and systems throughout the plant. This position will serve our Air Conditioning Division, located in Fort Smith, AR.

Ā 

Responsibilities

  • Perform general maintenance work in and around the plant using skills in welding, mechanics, pipefitting, or electricity.Ā 

  • Make repairs and replace parts on such mechanical equipment as presses, shears, drills, power hand tools and similar machines and tools.Ā 

  • Repair building, construct bins, shop benches, and partitions.Ā 

  • Repair and replace electrical switches, motors, and their controls.Ā 

  • Replace lights, lighting equipment and run conduit.Ā 

  • Operate and maintain building heating and cooling systems.Ā 

  • Maintain and repair other related equipment and systems in order to keep the plant functioning.Ā 

  • Perform preventative maintenance as required.Ā 

  • Assist maintenance ā€œBā€Ā  personnel in installing and repairing other related equipment and systems.Ā 

  • Report on any unusual mechanical or operating conditions.Ā 

  • Follow all safety, quality, and work instruction guidelines.Ā 

  • Maintain quality standards according to specifications.Ā 

  • Regular attendance is expected and required.Ā 

  • Maintain good housekeeping.Ā 

  • Perform other duties as required.Ā 

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical functions of plant equipmentĀ 

  • 3 years manufacturing experience. PreferredĀ 
  • High school diploma or GED. PreferredĀ 
  • Ability to obtain lift truck operator’s license and maintain certification annually.Ā 
  • The ability to read, write, comprehend English.Ā 
  • 3 years maintenance experience or apprenticeship program.Ā 
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and repair.Ā 

Physical Demands:

  • Sitting, standing, walking, bending for extended periods.
  • Occasionally lifting 50lbs.
  • Pulling and/or pushing.
