Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Production Planning Manager is responsible for leading production planning, master scheduling, business systems ownership, operational reporting, and change management processes across manufacturing operations.

This leader develops and executes integrated production planning strategies that balance customer demand, manufacturing capacity, operational constraints, and business objectives. The role is accountable for leading the Production Planning team, governing planning-related ERP systems and reporting infrastructure, and driving operational excellence through cross-functional collaboration and continuous improvement initiatives.

This position is part of the Operations organization and will partner closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Customer Service, Finance, Information Technology, Procurement, and Commercial teams to optimize business performance and support sustainable growth.

This is an onsite position in Fort Collins, CO.

In this role, a typical day will look like:

  • Leading and developing a team of Production Planners and Scheduling personnel to achieve planning and operational objectives.
  • Directing the development and execution of master production schedules that balance customer demand, inventory targets, capacity constraints, and business priorities.
  • Serve as the business owner for production planning, forecasting, manufacturing scheduling, and operational reporting functionality within the ERP and supporting business systems ecosystem.
  • Lead the development, maintenance, governance, and continuous improvement of planning-related ERP processes, workflows, master data structures, and business rules.
  • Leading the supply planning process within the Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP) framework and presenting capacity, inventory, and supply risk analyses to leadership.
  • Partnering with Information Technology and business stakeholders to prioritize and implement system enhancements, workflow improvements, and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Driving operational readiness and change management activities for new product introductions, engineering changes, business process improvements, and system implementations.
  • Leading inventory optimization, capacity planning, and manufacturing planning initiatives that improve service levels, working capital performance, and operational efficiency.
  • Applying Veralto Business System (VBS) methodologies and continuous improvement tools to improve planning accuracy, schedule attainment, and business performance.

The essential requirements of the job include:  

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in production planning, supply chain planning, manufacturing operations, or materials management within a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum 3 years of people leadership experience managing production planning, scheduling, or supply chain teams, or equivalent experience influencing cross-functional stakeholders and driving alignment across multiple business partners.
  • Demonstrated experience serving as a business process owner for ERP, production planning, scheduling, manufacturing, or operational systems.
  • Experience leading change management initiatives, system implementations, business process improvements, or new product introduction programs.
  • Experience developing and managing operational reporting, KPIs, dashboards, and business intelligence tools such as Power BI.
  • Strong knowledge of production planning, master scheduling, capacity planning, inventory management, ERP systems, and SIOP processes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • APICS/ASCM CPIM, CSCP, CLTD, or equivalent certification.
  • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma Green Belt, or Black Belt certification.
  • Experience within industrial manufacturing, environmental solutions, water quality, analytical instrumentation, or regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Experience implementing process improvements through VBS, Danaher Business System (DBS), or similar operating systems.

The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. An associate’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs.

The compensation range for this role is $120,000 - $130,000 USD per year. This job is also eligible for Bonus Pay.
