About Trimark Associates

Trimark Associates is a leader in SCADA software, metering services, and system integration for the U.S. power industry. We support generation facilities of all sizes—from 1 MW solar sites to multi‑GW nuclear plants—delivering solutions for operational visibility, regulatory compliance (including NERC and CAISO), and reliable system control.

Our in‑house platforms, including T1‑S Vantage and True:SCADA, are built on deep expertise in metering, SCADA, and energy market integration. Clients depend on us to ensure seamless operations, enable fast controls, provide reliable data, and adapt quickly to changing grid demands. From concept through commissioning, we design and deliver complete systems—covering architecture, software development, hardware integration, deployment, testing, certification, and ongoing support.

Role Overview

Trimark Associates is seeking an experienced Senior Software Developer to help drive the continued evolution of our T1-S Vantage platform.

This role is ideal for a software engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, designing scalable enterprise applications, and building software that directly supports critical infrastructure across the electrical grid.

As a Senior Software Developer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and enhancing core platform capabilities. You will work closely with product owners, developers, project managers, systems engineers, and customers to deliver high-quality software solutions that are reliable, maintainable, and scalable.

The ideal candidate combines strong software engineering fundamentals with practical experience building modern enterprise applications using Microsoft technologies. You should be comfortable leading technical initiatives, mentoring other developers, and contributing throughout the entire software development lifecycle.

What You'll Do

  Software Development

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain new features within the T1-S Vantage platform
  • Build scalable, high-performance applications using C# and .NET
  • Develop and maintain RESTful APIs, backend services, and distributed application components
  • Create and enhance web-based user interfaces using modern web technologies
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following established engineering standards
  • Participate in architectural planning and technical design discussions

  Platform Engineering

  • Improve the performance, reliability, and scalability of mission-critical applications
  • Design solutions for handling large volumes of operational, telemetry, and time-series data
  • Integrate software with industrial devices, third-party systems, data historians, and external services
  • Support cloud and on-premises deployments across customer environments
  • Contribute to software security, observability, monitoring, and operational readiness

  Technical Leadership

  • Lead development efforts for major features and initiatives
  • Mentor junior and mid-level developers through code reviews and technical guidance
  • Advocate for engineering best practices, coding standards, and software quality
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and implementation strategies
  • Assist in estimating work, planning releases, and managing technical risk

  Continuous Improvement

  • Participate in Agile development activities, including sprint planning, standups, reviews, and retrospectives
  • Identify opportunities to improve software architecture, development processes, and team productivity
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions that align with business objectives
  • Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge-sharing initiatives

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 7+ years of professional software development experience
  • Proven experience developing and maintaining enterprise software applications
  • Experience working on complex, distributed, or mission-critical systems
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects and mentor other developers

Required Qualifications

  • Strong proficiency in C# and .NET
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented design principles and software architecture patterns
  • Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs

  • Strong knowledge of SQL, performance optimization, and data modeling
  • Experience building modern web applications using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Familiarity with source control systems such as Git
  • Experience working within Agile software development environments
  • Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with both modern ASP.NET Core (.NET 8+) and legacy ASP.NET MVC/WebForms web applications
  • Experience with .Net testing frameworks and principals, specifically xUnit
  • Experience with TypeScript (Angular, React, or similar modern front-end frameworks)
  • Experience with PostgreSQL and time-series databases
  • Experience building cloud-native applications in Microsoft Azure

  • Experience with message-based and event-driven architectures
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals and distributed systems
  • Experience with industrial automation, SCADA, telemetry, or operational technology environments
  • Familiarity with power generation, utility operations, energy markets, or regulatory compliance systems
  • Knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, DNP3, OPC-UA, or ICCP

Why This Role

  • Work on high-impact systems that support the electrical grid. You’ll have a direct impact on systems that support real-time utility operations across the U.S.
