Job DetailsJob Location: Mount Hermon, CA 95041Position Type: Full TimeSalary Range: $22.28 - $35.98 HourlyTravel Percentage: Santa Cruz MountainsJob Shift: Conference CenterPosition Objective: The Adventure Operations Manager is responsible for the administrative leadership of the Adventures Department in order to ensure quality and impactful programs in a manner consistent with MHA’s mission, vision, culture code and standards of conduct. General Qualifications: The Adventures Operations Manager is a Ministerial position. Ministerial staff render their work, stewardship, relationships and behavior as evidence of being followers of Jesus Christ while embracing and affirming MHA’s Christian mission, vision, beliefs and standards of conduct. They are responsible for defining, cultivating and leading MHA’s Christian community, conference programs and retreats. All staff are expected to join gatherings, which includes prayer, worship, and Bible-centered teaching. Key Job Accountabilities: Maintain organization and efficiency by assisting the Adventures Director with administrative roles such as: tracking and organizing staff certifications & trainings; managing Google calendars; and disseminating pertinent administrative information to staff as directed. Work closely with the management team on scheduling, forecasting, and optimizing staffing. Maintain clear and timely communication with staff in all departments: Program, Registration, Outdoor Science, Guest Services, Human Resources, Creative Services and Accounting/Payroll. Represent MH Adventures in interdepartmental meetings as needed. Supervise Operations Supervisor and Customer Service Team to ensure professional and timely responses throughout the sales process of inquiry, booking, billing, and follow-up. Oversee Adventure Retail sales, including but not limited to product decisions, ordering and stocking to ensure revenue and expense targets are achieved. Lead by example in exercising and promoting an attitude of hospitality in all interactions with MHA guests and staff members. Improve operational systems, processes and policies to support our mission. Play a significant role in long-term planning, including both growth strategies and methodology to ensure lasting excellence. Other duties as assigned. Work Experience: Some administrative experience is required. Experience with payroll, scheduling and calendar management is preferred. Experience and desire to work within and contribute to a positive team setting with diverse people. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Demonstrated superior communication and interactions with staff and guests, possessing the ability to respond to both with courtesy. Flexible; ability to change plans with tact and grace. Ability to exercise discretion, good judgment and decision-making abilities when necessary. Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and work in a fast-paced team environment without supervision. Absolute attention to detail and safety. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Google Office Suite as well as capable of learning new software. Ability to give and receive feedback. Demonstrated positive attitude that translates to guest satisfaction with all programs. Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job as described in the Key Job Accountabilities: The physical environment requires the employee to talk and hear both in person from close and long distances and by phone or radio. Specific vision requirements of this job include close vision. Requires sitting, standing, lifting, bending, climbing, squatting, twisting and the ability lift 20-30 lbs. Additional Requirements: Position will require weekend, holiday and long hours of work. Position will require flexibility in scheduling and will be often be “on-call.” Must have a clean driving record of at least three years, and agree to and comply with MHA’s employee driving guidelines for MHA-owned vehicles and use of personal vehicles for business purposes. Adherence to company dress code and professional standards for personal grooming and appearance. Satisfactory completion of background investigation as well as ability to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
