About the Position

ZF's advanced camera solutions provide safety systems such as Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Following Distance Indication (FDI), Lane Keeping assistance (LKAS) and Lane Departure Warning (LDW). These functions are realized with a forward-looking monocular camera mounted at the windshield in the region of the rear-view mirror. This position is responsible for the software development of Camera systems for passenger cars and commercial vehicles within the DAS Business Unit.

 

What you can look forward to as Principal Software Engineer: 

  • Lead the execution of software tasks and deliverables across the entire software lifecycle, encompassing requirements analysis, design, coding, unit testing, and defect resolution.
  • Enforce adherence to a defined software process to ensure excellence in quality and thorough documentation, in compliance with SPICE and ISO26262 standards.
  • Manage the configuration of AUTOSAR modules and their integration into automotive systems.
  • Develop intricate embedded software for ECUs, orchestrating the specification, design, and development of critical safety features based on system needs.
  • Uphold configuration management standards to establish baselines for all major software releases.
  • Vigilantly track and resolve issues, maintaining a controlled and standardized methodology.
  • Produce comprehensive documentation, including release notes, software development plans, software requirement specifications, and software quality assurance plans.
  • Abide by the corporate quality process for documenting embedded code.
  • Drive process improvements to align with industry benchmarks and the commercial objectives of the company.
  • Generate and follow through on project timelines, ensuring milestones are met in a timely fashion.
  • Collaborate with international colleagues and work alongside hardware engineers and cross-functional teams to debug and validate code.
  • Prepare detailed and actionable analyses, reports, and presentations tailored to both internal teams and external customers.
  • Interpret automotive customer requirements, project milestones, and the technological relevance and capability to inform project direction.
  • Motivate and guide teams to achieve task completion and project success.

 

Your Profile as Principal Software Engineer:

  • 10+ years of Embedded Software Engineering Field
  • 5+ years of ADAS experience.
  • Knowledge of ASPICE, ISO26262 and AUTOSAR Architecture.
  • Experience with Configuration Management tools like Git and Integrity.
  • Experience with Static Analysis tools like QAC and Polyspace.
  • Knowledge of Agile software development methodology.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics/Software Engineering or related discipline (masters preferred)
