Driver Recruiter Summary

The Driver Recruiter (in-person in Fargo or remote) plays a critical role in building and sustaining a high-quality over-the-road flatbed driver workforce. This position is responsible for identifying, engaging, and converting qualified driver candidates through consultative sales techniques, high-volume outreach, and relationship-driven recruiting strategies. Success in this role requires strong communication skills, industry knowledge, and the ability to balance fast-paced candidate engagement with compliance, safety, and DOT regulatory standards.

Your Responsibilities

  • Position Assessment // Use consultative sales techniques to align driver needs and preferences with available over-the-road flatbed opportunities
  • Customer Service // Manage high volumes of inbound and outbound calls while maintaining strong conversion rates and timely candidate follow-up
  • Industry Knowledge // Maintain expert-level understanding of hiring areas, compensation structures, equipment specifications, and company policies
  • Candidate Communication // Guide driver prospects through the full recruitment lifecycle with clear, professional, and consistent communication
  • Offer Negotiation // Overcome objections and negotiate offers to secure driver commitments while meeting company guidelines
  • Pipeline Development // Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified driver candidates through outbound calling, lead follow-up, and networking

Minimum Qualifications

A high school diploma or equivalent, and at least one (1) year of experience in recruiting, sales, telemarketing, or high-volume customer service.

  • Recruiting Experience // Prior experience managing high-volume candidate pipelines or prospect outreach
  • Regulatory Knowledge // Working knowledge of DOT and FMCSA hiring requirements, including driver qualification standards
  • Safety Screening // Ability to obtain, review, and evaluate Motor Vehicle Records (MVRs) and Pre-Employment Screening Program (PSP) reports
  • Technical Proficiency // Comfort navigating applicant tracking systems, phone systems, and recruiting databases

Preferred Qualifications

An associate’s degree or higher in business, human resources, or a related field, and three (3) or more years of experience in transportation recruiting or sales. An equivalent combination may be considered.

  • Industry Experience // Prior experience recruiting or selling within the trucking, logistics, or transportation industry
  • Flatbed Knowledge // Familiarity with over-the-road flatbed operations, terminology, and driver expectations
  • Compliance Awareness // Advanced understanding of DOT compliance, safety standards, and hiring best practices

Salary and Schedule

  • Salary // Pay will be competitive and commensurate with experience
  • Schedule // This position is full-time based out of Fargo, ND or remote. The working days/times are Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
