Nurse Practitioner | 2 Days Per Month | South Texas | $130/hr
Location: South Texas — alternating between a site near Falfurrias/Encino and a site near Kingsville/Riviera
Schedule: Two weekday clinical days per month at one site, alternating sites month to month — approximately 8 hours per shift
Employment Type: W-2
Compensation: $130 per hour, onsite hours
Anticipated Start Date: October 2026
About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) to provide onsite care at two workplace locations in South Texas.
The clinics support employees working within a large working wildlife ranch environment. Each month you spend two clinical days at one of the two sites, alternating between them, so you return to each site roughly every other month.
Day one is preventive checkups and bloodwork. Day two, four to seven days later, is sitting down with each employee in person to go through their results. You see the same people over time — every employee is baselined at the first visit, and the programme tracks movement on A1C, blood pressure and cholesterol, so the care you give is measured rather than a one-off encounter.
This is a long-term opportunity with a small, predictable monthly commitment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review patient health histories, medications, and current concerns.
- Perform routine and preventive health evaluations.
- Manage diabetes, prediabetes, and other common chronic conditions.
- Prescribe medications as clinically appropriate and within scope of practice.
- Review and interpret laboratory results.
- Perform blood draws and venipuncture.
- Provide patient education and health guidance.
- Recommend appropriate follow-up care when needed.
- Document patient encounters according to clinical standards.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and professional standards of care.
Requirements:
- Active, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in Texas
- Current FNP, FNP-C, or FNP-BC certification
- Active BLS and/or ACLS CPR certification
- Background in family practice, internal medicine, or primary care
- Prior Nurse Practitioner experience
- Must be comfortable prescribing medications and reviewing laboratory results
- Must be able to perform phlebotomy / venipuncture
- Strong computer and electronic documentation skills
- Strong communication and patient-service skills
- Ability to work independently in an onsite clinical environment
- Locally based candidates preferred; you will travel to each clinic location on your scheduled days
- Texas requires APRNs to practice under a physician delegation and prescriptive-authority agreement. If you need a collaborating physician, we will find one for you — you do not need to arrive with one.
Why This Role
- $130 per hour — approximately $1,040 per clinic day
- Only two scheduled clinical days per month
- Long-term recurring opportunity
- Weekday daytime hours
- No weekends or on-call coverage
- Unique onsite workplace healthcare setting
Practical Notes
- Must bring a personal laptop or tablet to each shift for electronic charting and documentation
