Job Description

NETZSCH Pumps USA is looking for a Logistics Supervisor to lead the day-to-day physical operation of the Exton, PA warehouse, covering receiving, incoming inspection, internal warehousing, picking, packing, and shipping of pumps, and spare parts. The role is responsible for inventory accuracy, on-time order fulfillment, outbound carrier selection, and a safe working environment, and acts as the operational owner of warehouse transactions in SAP.

Specifically, this position is responsible for:

Operations & Team Leadership

  • Lead a team of 8–12 associates and plan and prioritize the daily workload across the team based on order urgency, customer commitments, and service/production needs.
  • Recommend and participate in hiring, disciplinary action, and termination decisions in partnership with HR and the Supply Chain & Planning Manager.
  • Coordinate with other departments on priorities, expedites, and exceptions. Answer questions and provide information.
  • Drive continuous improvement of warehouse layout, workflows, and productivity (5S / lean methods).

Inventory & ERP Data Integrity

  • Own inventory accuracy: physical inventory execution, root-cause analysis of variances, and corrective action and identify incorrect, incomplete, or missing material movements in SAP and make corrections.
  • Maintain operationally relevant warehouse master data (storage/bin locations, handling units, packaging data).
  • Report on KPIs such as inventory accuracy, receiving cycle time, and open/aged goods receipts.

Freight & Shipping

  • Ensure shipments are packaged appropriately for the product type and dispatched on time.
  • Select outbound carriers and service levels, balancing cost, transit time, and customer requirements; own freight spent for outbound shipments.
  • Manage carrier relationships and day-to-day performance; escalate service failures and damage claims.

Incoming Inspection & Quality

  • Manage the incoming inspection process for purchased parts and machines, including inspection documentation, quarantine of nonconforming material, and coordination of supplier claims with Purchasing/Supplier Development.
  • Ensure traceability and correct documentation for goods received and shipped.

Safety

  • Ensure a safe workplace: enforce PPE, safe lifting and material-handling practices, forklift and overhead-crane operating rules, housekeeping (5S), and hazard reporting.
  • Actively participate in the Safety Committee
  • Conduct safety briefings, incident/near-miss investigations, and support internal audits.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA requirements and company EHS standards; maintain forklift/equipment certifications for the team.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years in warehouse, logistics, or distribution operations, including 2+ years leading or supervising a team.
  • Hands-on proficiency with ERP systems; SAP (MM/WM) strongly preferred, including goods movements, transfer postings, and correction of erroneous transactions.
  • Solid understanding of inventory management and warehouse processes in a technical or industrial-goods environment.
  • Strong Excel skills; comfortable working with operational data and KPIs.
  • Ability to read and interpret part numbers, BOMs, packing lists, and basic technical drawings.
  • Demonstrated safety leadership; forklift experience/certification (or willingness to certify).
