Job Description
Responsibility may include design, development, and improvement of manufacturing processes, equipment, tools, and production systems used to convert raw materials into finished products. Partners with product development and operations teams to ensure products can be manufactured safely, efficiently, cost-effectively, and in compliance with quality and regulatory requirements. Analyzes manufacturing performance, resolves technical issues, and drives continuous improvement in productivity, quality, and process capability. Conduct feasibility studies, Gage R&R, time studies, and tests new and modified designs. Provides information for drafting and documentation.
Responsibilities
- Work independently or in collaboration with technical/factory resources to achieve key manufacturing metrics
- Cell support for manufacturing personnel, products, and production equipment
- Juggle daily work with multiple active projects
- Analyze test data to evaluate key factors and collaborates with technical resources on/off site in problem solving
- Demonstrates good judgment in selecting test methods and manufacturing techniques and understands limitations in materials and standard industry equipment
- Evaluate and qualify new parts or suppliers
- Work with supplier/customer to root cause countermeasure quality issues
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field (Industrial engineering, Materials Science, etc) from ABET accredited university
- Post-undergraduate education in related engineering field preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience
- Experience with pressure systems, controls, and hardware
- High attention to detail and able to implement short term fixes with long term solutions
- Present information and respond to questions from leadership, engineers, operators, and other support staff.
- Estimates, leads, and delivers work at a project level
- Influences assembly / test design tradeoff decisions
- Ability to analyze large datasets and designs
- Experience in temperature calibration systems, validation proof testing, and standard methodology in temperature technology
- Performs advanced root cause analysis and root cause countermeasures
- Customizes production methods or systems to simplify or automate tasks
- Hands-on experience with multiple manufacturing processes preferred
