Job DetailsJob Location: Washington County - Calais, ME 04619TRIO Transfer and Career Advisor44-week position – grant-funded Washington County Community College is seeking a student-focused, collaborative professional to serve as a TRIO Transfer and Career Advisor within the College’s TRIO Student Support Services program. This full-time, 10-month (44-week) position, typically August through May, is located within the Teaching and Learning Center for Excellence and serves both TRIO participants and the general WCCC student population. The position provides academic advising, transfer counseling, tutoring, supplemental instruction, career guidance, and other services designed to support student success. Some evening and weekend hours and travel may be required. The Transfer and Career Advisor assists students in identifying educational and career goals, developing transfer plans, navigating college applications and financial aid resources, and strengthening academic success skills. The position collaborates with faculty, staff, four-year colleges and universities, and community partners; coordinates transfer activities and college visits; provides individual and small-group academic support; and assists with TRIO programming and tutoring, student records, and required program reporting. Prorated Salary Range: grant funded, MEA Administrators Unit, Level III, salary commensurate with credentials and experience $40,820 to $45,936. Prorated Benefits: employer paid health for employees, dental & life insurance for employees, Maine State or TIAA CREF Retirement, vacation/personal/sick time allowances, professional development, and free tuition within the MCCS. TRIO SSS is a federally funded retention, graduation, and transfer program that aims to support the learning needs of low-income students, first-generation students, and students with a documented disability. Preference will be given to applicants with a background similar to that of SSS participants. This grant program runs on a five-year grant cycle (2025 to 2030). WCCC has successfully been awarded the TRIO SSS grant continuously since 2001. Application Process: Position is open until filled. Experience with TRIO, higher education, academic tutoring, transfer counseling, or supporting first-generation and low-income students is preferred.
