The Logistics Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the efficient movement of outbound materials from multiple aggregate locations throughout the Lake Erie region and Northern Virginia. Working collaboratively with a dedicated logistics team, this position is responsible for maintaining a strong understanding of the company's outbound materials strategy, daily sales activity, inventory and stockpile management, and regional transportation networks.
This role focuses on implementing transportation strategies that ensure exceptional customer service, meet market demand, and optimize freight costs. The Logistics Coordinator will also develop and strengthen relationships with transportation providers, identify new service opportunities, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement throughout the supply chain.

Responsibilities & Duties:Â
Coordinate customer orders and dispatch transportation resources to ensure timely and efficient delivery of products to meet customer requirements.Â
Create, update, and manage SAP sales and shipment orders to support accurate and seamless execution of outbound deliveries.Â
Develop and maintain strong relationships with transportation providers while proactively identifying and onboarding new carrier partners as needed.Â
Oversee the freight payment process, ensuring accurate and timely review, reconciliation, and processing of transportation invoices.Â
Drive optimization of Carmeuse retail yard operations through effective collaboration and communication with Sales, Operations, and transportation partners.Â
Serve as a key contributor to continuous improvement initiatives, identifying and implementing enhancements to site load-out capabilities, transportation efficiency, and operational processes.Â
Monitor daily transportation activity and proactively resolve service issues to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and operational performance.Â
Support cost-effective transportation strategies that balance customer demand, service expectations, and freight expense management.

Basic Requirements:Â
Degree in related field preferred
3-5 years’ experience in transportation and/or logistics. Preferably dispatching in a trucking environmentÂ
Seasonal demands may include longer hours during the busy season
Strong analytical skills
SAP experience desired
Ability for periodic travel to CLS plants, vendor facilities and customer operations

Knowledge:
Understanding the dispatching of trucks in a highly dynamic and fast paced environment
Highly self-motivated
Strong analytical and evaluation skills and be a clear strategic and systematic thinker as well as a strong tactical leader
Demonstrated strong organizational and time management capabilities
Must present a professional personal image and have good relationship management skills
Knows appropriate negotiating tactics and is able to negotiate win/win agreements without compromising principles
