Recruitment Description:

This posting is for applicants who have tested through Public Safety Testing between 04/20/26 and 08/29/26 AND have received an email invite from the City of Ellensburg to complete our employment application form.  

Applications must be completed and submitted by midnight on SEPTEMBER 13, 2026.  If applications are not received by midnight on SEPTEMBER 13, 2026, you will not be able to proceed in this recruitment process.

In addition to the base wage, there is incentive pay for physical fitness determined by an annual fitness assessment.  There are also incentives for education, longevity, and specialty pay for certain positions (i.e., school resource officer, detective, anti-crime, reserve coordinator, field training officer.)

2026 Wages:

$6,777/month – Probationary

$7,255/month – Third Class

$7,673/month – Second Class

$8,826/month – First Class
