Summary

As a Production Operator, you will execute the assigned process and equipment in accordance with work instructions. You will support production volumes and quality targets under the production plan, using equipment and computerized systems to produce, assemble, evaluate, process, and package lithium-ion batteries in a climate-controlled environment.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve KPIs including Production Target Quantity, OEE, Yield, and project targets
  • Prepare equipment and materials for production
  • Lead machine change-over and verify proper function and product quality
  • Operate equipment in accordance with the OP Manual, inputting materials and monitoring defects and loss for continuous operation
  • Request and support calibration of measurement systems
  • Perform sorting, rework, and re-input activities as required
  • Conduct self-inspection of product and verify quality standards are met
  • Maintain accurate records of production work, production logs, quality checks, and maintenance work logs
  • Track all non-conformances and scrap
  • Monitor SPC, RMS, and QMS NCR systems and report findings to the supervisor or manager
  • Manage inventory of materials, semi-product, product, and holding material/product
  • Adhere to company, team, and safety rules and requirements at all times, including clean room rules and PPE standards
  • Perform 5S audits and maintain cleanliness at work-site in accordance with 5S3R Standards (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain; Right Location, Right Quantity, Right Container)
  • Follow existing HLBMA cleaning SOPs during downtime (e.g., line stop, waiting time), including cleaning assigned machines and surrounding work areas
  • Mentor and train new technical operators
  • Cooperate and communicate within and between departments and shifts
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors and engineers

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Vocational Certificate or Associate degree preferred, or equivalent relevant experience
  • Ability and willingness to work 8-12-hour shifts, weekends, and holidays, as business needs evolve. 
  • Applicants understand that shift assignments will be determined by the company based on operational needs and may change over time. 

Experience

  • Demonstrated reliable work history and consistent attendance in prior employment
  • 1+ years of manufacturing experience preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to properly and regularly utilize the following PPE for periods of up to 12 hours: safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, nitrile gloves, ear protection, and cleanroom suit
  • Must be able to repeatedly lift, push, and pull materials or equipment for periods of up to 12 hours
  • Must be able to repeatedly stoop, twist, and bend for periods of up to 12 hours
  • Must be able to repeatedly reach overhead for periods of up to 12 hours
  • Must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods
  • Must be able to use hands and fingers to operate tools, equipment, and computer systems

Work Environment

  • Work is performed in a climate-controlled manufacturing environment, including clean room areas
  • Work may involve handling or working in proximity to hazardous materials and regulated industrial chemicals
  • Exposure to chemical vapors, dust, or other controlled substances may occur depending on process assignment
  • Strict adherence to company safety policies and OSHA Hazard Communication requirements is mandatory
  • Employees must properly wear and maintain assigned personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times within designated areas
  • Required PPE may include respirators, chemical-resistant garments, gloves, eye protection, face shields, or other equipment determined by process and risk assessment
