Position Summary
The Pharmacy Manager oversees day-to-day operations for a community health center pharmacy located within a primary care federally qualified health center clinic. This position is responsible for managing pharmacy operations, pharmaceutical inventory, and pharmacy team performance while ensuring high-quality patient care, excellent customer service, and regulatory compliance. The Pharmacy Manager also supports access to affordable medications through available pharmacy programs and grants.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily pharmacy operations and ensure safe, efficient, patient-centered service.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, Nevada State Board of Pharmacy requirements, HIPAA, and NVHC policies and procedures.
- Supervise pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, including scheduling, coaching, engagement, recognition, and performance reviews.
- Ensure adequate pharmacist staffing to support pharmacy operations.
- Verify the appropriateness and accuracy of prescriptions and ensure proper patient counseling.
- Maintain appropriate drug inventory levels, safeguard inventory and records, and manage pharmacy labor and expenses within budget.
- Utilize the electronic health record to determine patient eligibility, review relevant health information, provide pharmacy services, and perform compliance audits.
- Prepare for annual Board of Pharmacy inspections and conduct regular audits and site reviews at clinic and pharmacy sites.
- Promote patient, staff, and interdepartmental satisfaction through excellent service and collaboration.
- Complete assigned tasks and implement pharmacy programs as directed by pharmacy department leadership.
- Travel occasionally within the state for site visits, education, training, and job-related meetings.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy.
- Active pharmacist license in good standing with the Nevada State Board of Pharmacy.
- Minimum of three years of pharmacy experience.
- CPR and immunization certifications required.
- Professional competence, sound clinical judgment, and commitment to patient-centered care.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience in community pharmacy, ambulatory care, or federally qualified health center settings.
- Knowledge of 340B pharmacy operations and medication access programs.
- Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience supervising pharmacy staff and managing pharmacy workflows, budgets, and compliance activities.
Work Environment
This pharmacy does not dispense controlled substances. The Pharmacy Manager works in a clinic-based pharmacy environment and collaborates closely with pharmacy leadership, clinic teams, and patients to support safe, accessible, and affordable medication services. Occasional in-state travel may be required.
