Basic Job Functions:
Nucor Steel Brandenburg isĀ seekingĀ a highly motivated Intern/Co-op to join our team for the spring/summer. This role supports the development of high-quality steel products through data analysis, quality assurance, and cross-functional collaboration. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able toĀ demonstrateĀ the ability toĀ initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standardsĀ at all times.Ā Ā
Key Responsibilities:Ā Ā
ā¢ Compile and analyze mechanical testing and chemical composition dataĀ Ā
ā¢ Verify material compliance with customer/major society specificationsĀ Ā
ā¢Ā AssistĀ in metallographic preparation and analysisĀ Ā
ā¢ Organize andĀ maintainĀ technical documentationĀ Ā
ā¢ Support problem-solving efforts throughout steel production processesĀ Ā
ā¢ Communicate effectively with teams across the millĀ Ā
ā¢ Uphold and promote Nucor's safety standards and practicesĀ Ā
Ā Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Requirements:
ā¢ Enrollment in a 4-year undergraduate or non-thesis graduate program PreferredĀ
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in theĀ US,Ā Nucor Steel Brandenburg will not sponsor the need for a visa now or in the future.Ā
Preferred Qualifications:
ā¢ Interest in metallurgy and materials scienceĀ Ā
ā¢ Strong analytical and data interpretation skillsĀ Ā
ā¢ Experience with computer science, coding languages, SPC, and Microsoft OfficeĀ Ā
ā¢ Excellent communication and teamworkĀ abilitiesĀ
