The Cyber Security Analyst is the primary individual with responsibility for determining cyber security-related test requirements for planning, execution, and reporting. The Cyber Analyst plans for and coordinates cyber-vulnerability and penetration/exploitation testing to include test plans and testing conducted by outside organizations.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead/Participate in/attend various program, technical, and test readiness reviews to include attendance at meetings: teleconferences, video teleconferences, integrated test team meetings, threat working groups, test plan working groups, system design reviews, technical interchange meetings, core team meetings, and others as required.
  • Representation of Det 5/XTO at cyber-related working groups when designated by the COR.
  • Review of and contribution to cyber security-related OT&E documents: requirements capabilities documents and operational requirements documents (if required), Test and Evaluation Master Plans, System Threat Assessment Reports, system description information, development program specifications, equipment interface specifications, program concepts and plans, developmental test and evaluation and operational test and evaluation test plans and reports, design documentation, Defense Intelligence Agency and/or Air Force Intelligence approved threat documents and concepts of operation/concepts of employment.
  • Act as the primary focal point for cyber-related test activities with external organizations
  • Support writing of cyber aspects of reports and memos: memos for record, test event progress reports, test event quick-look summaries, test event reports, and draft sections of the final report.
  • Research and analysis of available test options and determining the best and most cost effectiveness and suitability test methods for cyber testing
  • Development of adequate test concepts, test methods, and analysis for effectiveness and suitability evaluations for cyber tests.
  • Determination of test resources and schedules adequate to achieve the suggested methods.
  • Identification of appropriate test support tools for use in testing effectiveness.
  • Preparation for and participate in selected flight and ground tests, as required.
  • Preparation of trip reports on all program-related meetings or conferences attended.
  • Identification of appropriate test support tools for use in C2ISR effectiveness testing.
  • Recommendation of appropriate test facilities/ranges, review and document lessons learned, recommend critical operational issues and measures of effectiveness and suitability to be addressed operational capability during assessments and test and evaluation.
  • Development of test concepts and test plans, data management and analysis plans, and briefings, supporting program/technical reviews, and readiness reviews.
  • Development of evaluation methodologies and general analytic techniques (if required for the SUT), assess data requirements, and review specific tools needed to support the evaluation, and participate in the development of test resource plans and facilitate cyber-related aspects of core team meetings.
  • Bachelors’ Degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Minimum 6 or more years in cyber security, network defense, and/or network attack and experience with bomber, ISR, and mobility aircraft and systems, or associated areas such as system design or mission planning.
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) (or associate) or equivalent DoD 8570 Information Assurance Manager Level II Baseline Certification.
  • Security Clearance:
    • Active Secret Security Clearance to begin work
    • Capable of obtaining Top Secret with SCI eligibility
