TITLE: Class A CDL Truck Driver

REPORTS TO: Logistics Manager

LOCATION: East Palatka, FL

SUMMARY: Versed in DOT safety regulations, vehicle inspections, preventive maintenance, and on-time deliveries. Reliable, safety-focused, and committed to efficient route completion. Customer-focused with strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with dispatchers. Possess a clean driving record and the ability to drive and operate Class A commercial vehicles for local and regional routes. box trucks for long distances.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Operate Class A commercial vehicles safely and professionally
  • Communicate and coordinate with dispatch regarding routes and schedules
  • Comply with all local, state, and federal DOT regulations
  • Operate local routes with 1–2 overnight regional runs per week
  • Ensure freight is properly secured and protected
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections
  • Maintain driver logs, ELDs, and delivery documentation
  • Safely enter and exit trucks and trailers

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Minimum three (3) years of verifiable CDL driving experience
  • Reefer experience is preferred but not required
  • Ability to pass DOT drug and alcohol testing
  • Valid DOT physical / medical card
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to safely climb in and out of trailers
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and GPS navigation

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma/GED required 
  • Valid Class A CDL
  • Maintain an acceptable driving record for the preceding five (5) years, as verified through Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) checks in accordance with Company standards
  • Maintain a valid DOT Medical Certificate to ensure compliance with FMCSA regulations

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Local driving environment with 1–2 overnight regional runs per week
  • Fast-paced transportation and logistics environment
  • Exposure to varying weather conditions
  • Physical activity including lifting, climbing, and inspection
