The Client Implementation Specialist at plays a key role in creating a seamless experience for new clients as they transition into their partnership with Alcott HR. This position manages the implementation process across HR, payroll, benefits, and compliance services, working closely with clients and internal teams to understand their needs and deliver solutions that are accurate, timely, and tailored to their business. This role also supports the client offboarding process when a service agreement ends, serving as a primary point of contact throughout both the onboarding and offboarding lifecycle. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple projects and priorities while maintaining strong relationships with clients and cross-functional partners.

Here's what you'll do

  • Serve as the primary contact for clients throughout the implementation process.
  • Conduct discovery meetings to gather and understand client requirements.
  • Evaluate existing systems to identify integration opportunities.
  • Develop and execute detailed implementation plans with timelines and milestones.
  • Customize the HRIS platform to align with client business processes.
  • Oversee accurate and complete data migration.
  • Coordinate integration with third-party applications as needed.
  • Monitor implementation progress and adjust plans to address issues or changes
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure timely service delivery
  • Recommend enhancements or additional services to optimize client experience.
  • Conduct client training sessions on self-service portals, timekeeping, and reporting tools
  • Test and troubleshoot system configurations and functionality.
  • Validate system input, output, and connectivity; assist technical teams in resolving issues.
  • Upload and audit new client successor wages and set up PTO accrual policies.
  • Perform data entry and file uploads for client and employee records.
  • Quality check system setups, including Employee records (PTO policies, Benefit plan configurations, 401(k) and garnishment setups).
  • Ensure accurate and timely new client setups through thorough needs analysis.
  • Hand off completed implementations to the ongoing Client Services/Account Management team with a clean transition packet
  • Manage client offboarding when service agreements terminate, including final payroll processing, W-2/tax document handoff, and benefits termination coordination with carriers
  • Ensure timely COBRA notification and benefits continuation setup is triggered as part of offboarding, in partnership with Benefits/Compliance
  • Deactivate client access to HRIS/payroll self-service systems and confirm data retention/deletion timelines align with company policy and applicable state requirements
  • Conduct offboarding debrief with internal stakeholders to capture lessons learned and reasons for termination, feeding into retention/process improvement efforts

You are someone who has

  • 3–5+ years of experience in PEO, HRO, payroll, benefits administration, or a related field, ideally in a client-facing implementation or onboarding role.
  • Working knowledge of payroll fundamentals, including tax withholding, garnishments, and multi-state payroll
  • Experience working with HRIS and payroll platforms such as isolved, ADP, UKG, Paylocity, or similar systems.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple client implementations and offboarding projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with client HR and finance stakeholders as well as internal teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy when working with sensitive client and employee data.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, including VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP and pivot tables for data reconciliation and analysis.
  • The ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, Senior Management, Third-Party Administrators, and other stakeholders.
  • A proactive, solutions-oriented approach and the ability to adapt to changing client needs and priorities.

Compensation: $75,000 - $85,000 annually, commensurate with experience
