Job Description/Responsibilities

As our Stave Mill Supervisor, you’ll lead the day-to-day operations of stave sawing, making sure every log is turned into a quality stave ready for the next stage of the barrel-making process. You’ll guide and develop a team of hourly Team Members, keep safety and quality front and center on every shift, and partner with the Stave Mill Manager and maintenance team on schedules, upkeep, and continuous improvement. It’s a hands-on leadership role where your decisions directly shape the craftsmanship behind Sazerac’s iconic spirits.

 

What You’ll Do:• Supervise daily stave mill shift operations, ensuring production schedules are met within safety, quality, budgetary, and regulatory guidelines• Lead, train, and develop hourly Team Members, evaluating performance and building skills across the shift• Champion a strong safety culture by enforcing OSHA and Company safety policies, leading safety inspections, and helping investigate incidents• Monitor production efficiency, quality, and cost, and drive continuous improvement initiatives with the Stave Mill Manager and maintenance team• Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations while maintaining a clean, well-organized mill

Qualifications/Requirements

Required:•    High school diploma or equivalent•    3 years of relevant experience in a fast-paced environment•    Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization

Preferred:•    Bachelor’s Degree•    3 years of experience in the logging, sawmill, or lumber industry•    Strong planning and organizational skills
