Position Overview

Q LLC is looking for an experienced Quality Inspector to join our week night shift inspection team at our manufacturing facility in Dover, New Hampshire.

This is a hands-on inspection role supporting the manufacture of high-precision components and assemblies. We are looking for someone who knows their way around a CMM, understands GD&T, and can confidently inspect complex machined parts without needing constant supervision.

You will perform first-article, in-process, and final inspections while working closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality to keep production moving and ensure our products meet Q's quality standards and customer requirements.

What You'll Do

● Perform first-article, in-process, and final dimensional inspections of precision-machined and fabricated components.

● Operate CMM equipment to inspect complex part features and verify conformance to engineering drawings, models, and specifications.

● Set up, align, and execute CMM measurement programs and accurately document inspection results.

● Apply GD&T principles to evaluate features including true position, profile, concentricity, runout, and other geometric requirements.

● Use conventional inspection equipment including micrometers, calipers, height gauges, surface plates, optical comparators, thread gauges, and other precision measurement tools.

● Perform visual inspections for surface finish, workmanship, cosmetic requirements, and overall part quality.

● Complete inspection reports, travelers, nonconformance reports, and other required quality documentation.

● Identify and document nonconforming material and support MRB and corrective action activities when necessary.

● Work directly with Manufacturing and Engineering to resolve inspection issues and minimize production delays.

● Follow Q's calibration procedures and ensure inspection equipment and gauges are properly maintained and within calibration.

● Support first-article inspections, audits, customer inspections, and AS9100 activities as needed.

What We're Looking For

● 3+ years of quality inspection experience in precision machining, aerospace, defense, firearms, or a similar manufacturing environment.

● Hands-on CMM experience with the ability to independently set up and execute inspections.

● Strong understanding of GD&T and ASME Y14.5.

● Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, specifications, material certifications, and inspection documentation.

● Proficiency with micrometers, calipers, height gauges, surface plates, thread gauges, and other conventional metrology equipment.

● Experience working within an AS9100, ISO 9001, or similar quality management system.

● Strong attention to detail and the ability to accurately document inspection results.

● Ability to work independently and make sound quality decisions during the week night shift.

● Must be able to consistently work the Monday through Thursday schedule.

● Must be a U.S. Person, as defined by applicable ITAR requirements.

Nice to Have

● Experience with Zeiss CMMs and Calypso software.

● CMM programming experience, including programming from CAD models.

● Experience completing AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs).

● ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) or similar certification.

● Experience supporting customer or government source inspections.

● Experience inspecting components manufactured from 17-4 PH stainless steel, titanium, and other high-performance materials.

● Experience with 1Factory, DISCUS, or similar inspection and quality management software.

Work Environment

This position works on-site in a temperature-controlled precision inspection environment within Q's Dover manufacturing facility.

The role requires standing for extended periods, regularly working with precision inspection equipment and manufactured components, and occasionally lifting parts weighing up to 35 pounds. Required PPE must be worn while working in designated production areas.

Benefits

Q offers a competitive benefits package that includes:

● Medical, dental, and vision insurance

● 401(k) with company match

● Paid time off

10% week night shift differential

● Employee discounts and other Q benefits
