Harrison County Hospital is seeking a Rad Tech Assistant.

This position is PRN (as needed), Day or Evening, 8-16 hours.

The Radiologic Technologist Assistant transports patients from other areas in the hospital to the diagnostic imaging department in a manner conducive to their comfort, safety and well being and assists staff Radiologic Technologists with patient transfer to imaging table, helping patient to the bathroom and other duties. Under the direction of the Diagnostic Imaging Coordinator the Radiologic Technologist Assistant maintains mammography file folders, retrieves and returns mammography file folders, digitizes out of hospital films into PACS, and other duties as directed. The Radiologic Technologist Assistant has a working knowledge of patient care equipment and transportation devices. The Radiologic Technologist Assistant has a working knowledge of PACS/RIS burns CD's with patient images and information. The Radiologic Technologist Assistant renders quality patient care in accordance with the philosophy, mission, objectives and policies of Harrison County Hospital and provides services to all age groups. This position may require training in other areas and the assistant may be assigned other duties as deemed necessary to enhance the overall departmental functions. The Radiologic Technologist Assistant takes reasonable precautions when caring for patients, with the knowledge that mistakes may have serious consequences for the patient. The Radiologic Technologist Assistant supports and assumes a role in the Harrison County Hospital customer service program and is willing to work any part of a 24 hour shift to enhance the departmental functions.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS:

  • Must be able to communicate effectively with department manager, radiologist, physicians, their staffs, patients and their families.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology helpful, but not required.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • Previous medical experience preferred, but not required.
