Originally formed through Anderson Mechanical Services, Inc. and Inspiration Plumbing Company, VMG brings decades of industry experience together with a forward-thinking approach to delivering high-quality mechanical solutions.

As we continue to grow, we are looking for an experienced Superintendent to lead field operations and the successful execution of commercial mechanical construction projects throughout the Metro DC area. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who takes pride in building strong teams, maintaining safe and productive jobsites, and delivering quality projects.

What You'll Do

Lead Field Operations

  • Oversee day-to-day jobsite operations from project startup through closeout

  • Lead and coordinate field crews, Foremen, subcontractors, equipment, and materials

  • Develop and maintain project schedules, sequencing, and manpower plans

  • Monitor productivity and ensure project milestones and deadlines are met

  • Coordinate field activities with Project Managers, general contractors, subcontractors, and other trades

  • Participate in project meetings with clients, general contractors, and project partners

  • Identify field challenges early and coordinate solutions to keep projects moving

Drive Safety & Quality

  • Promote and enforce VMG and OSHA safety requirements on every jobsite

  • Conduct routine jobsite safety inspections and proactively address potential hazards

  • Ensure installations meet project drawings, specifications, applicable codes, and VMG quality standards

  • Monitor workmanship and coordinate inspections and quality-control activities

  • Identify and resolve field issues to minimize delays and rework

  • Maintain accountability for company tools, equipment, materials, and vehicles

Manage Project Performance

  • Plan manpower, materials, equipment, and other resources to support project schedules

  • Monitor daily production and field progress

  • Coordinate material and equipment deliveries to prevent delays

  • Track labor, subcontractor work, and project-related costs

  • Complete daily reports, timesheets, job logs, and required project documentation

  • Support project closeout, including inspections, punch lists, and final documentation

Lead & Develop the Team

  • Provide day-to-day leadership and direction to field crews and subcontractors

  • Set clear expectations for safety, productivity, quality, and professionalism

  • Coach and develop Foremen and other field employees

  • Promote accountability, teamwork, and strong communication across the jobsite

  • Foster a respectful and results-driven work environment

  • Lead by example through professionalism, reliability, and strong field leadership

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of experience supervising commercial construction projects

  • Commercial HVAC, Plumbing, Mechanical, or MEP experience strongly preferred

  • Proven experience leading field crews and managing day-to-day jobsite operations

  • Strong understanding of construction scheduling, sequencing, manpower planning, and cost control

  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project documents

  • Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and construction/project management technology

  • OSHA 30 preferred

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Preferred Experience

  • Experience leading large commercial mechanical construction projects

  • Strong background in HVAC, plumbing, piping, or related mechanical systems

  • Experience managing projects from startup through closeout

  • Experience coordinating with Project Managers, general contractors, subcontractors, and other trades

  • Proven ability to manage manpower, schedules, and field productivity
