Industrial Forklift Operator

Established in 1987, Triad Metals International is a privately held, independent company that has grown to become one of the premier distributors of structural steel, tubing, piling, and plate products. We are looking to hire a Forklift Operator to join our team in Petersburg, Virginia!

Successful Candidates will be expected to:

• Load and unload, inbound and outbound goods
• Transport goods within the facility
• Load/unload material from flatbed trucks. Maintaining correct locations for materials. Performing regular operator machine maintenance on forklifts.
• Optimize travel throughout the warehouse and yard to ensure operational efficiency
• Inspect material handling equipment for damage and schedule maintenance or repairs
• Manage inventory, keeping accurate data collection to ensure inventory integrity
• Adhere to safety standards, maintaining a safe, orderly, and clean environment
• Perform basic housekeeping to ensure all work areas are free of debris
• Follow procedures for reporting overages, shortages, and damages
• Perform other duties as needed.

Qualifications/Required Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred
• Proven experience as a forklift operator
• Ability to operate both large and medium sized sit-down fork trucks with large loads.
• (Forklift Certification will be provided by trainer and is required of all warehouse employees)
• Strong attention to detail
• Basic mathematical skills
• Knowledge of industrial equipment
• Ability to read a tape measure
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
