2027 Manufacturing Summer Internship – Metro Detroit, MI 

 

INTERNSHIP FORMAT: 

 

This internship will follow an in-person model. Interns will be based at one of the Stellantis manufacturing plants located in the Metro Detroit, MI area. Relocation assistance may be available for candidates who meet specific eligibility criteria. The internship program is scheduled to run from May through August 2027.

DEPARTMENT DETAILS: 

 

Manufacturing intern assignments focus on Stellantis Industrial System (SIS) processes, products and services in the following areas: 

  • Assembly Operations 
  • Engine and Transmission Manufacturing 
  • Manufacturing Planning and Control 
  • Manufacturing Engineering 
  • Stamping Operations 
  • Manufacturing Quality 

 

Qualifications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or higher in a manufacturing-related program at an accredited university (e.g., Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering) or related field from an accredited college or university. 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite applications. 
  • Able to work full-time, 40 hours per week during the internship. 
  • Willingness to relocate for internship. 
  • Completion of freshman year or higher at an accredited college or university by the Spring 2027. 
  • Must be willing and able to work in a manufacturing environment 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Demonstrated knowledge of LEAN manufacturing processes. 
  • Strong interest in manufacturing and manufacturing operations in the automotive industry. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.  
  • Capable of working both independently and as part of a team.  
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across various organizational levels and with external partners. 
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, multitask, and achieve goals in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Proven leadership in academic pursuits, extracurricular activities, or service organizations.
