Vylor is seeking a highly motivated Research Scientist in computational biology. The successful candidate will use single-cell, network biology, and multi-omics approaches for gene discovery and contribute to genomics research in support of our biotech research. This is an opportunity to join a leading and dynamic genetics and biotech company and make an impact on agriculture.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead computational efforts for gene discovery and participate in the development of intellectual property.
  • Contribute to design and planning of genomics experiments and perform data analysis.
  • Participate in developing new methods and advances in plant biotechnology and breeding.
  • Collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams, communicate research, and provide expert knowledge and recommendations.

What Skills You’ll Need

  • Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Plant Biology, or related field with an emphasis in genomics.
  • Ability to work independently, adapt, and continually develop new skills.
  • Strong communication skills and a proven ability to collaborate and work across diverse teams.
  • Knowledge of gene regulation and network biology is essential.
  • Experience in analyzing single-cell expression data and biological networks is essential. Demonstrated application to plant biology and reproduction is strongly desired.
  • Experience working in Linux/Unix environments and large computing clusters is essential.
  • Experience working and coding in R is essential. Experience with python or other coding languages preferred.
  • Familiarity with AWS, Kubernetes, and cloud computing is strongly preferred.
  • Two or more years of industry experience is desired.
