The Portfolio Manager I is responsible for assisting Real Estate Group (REG) Lenders in the analysis of new REG loan opportunities and Portfolio Managers (Levels 2 & Sr) in various REG portfolio management activities. Real Estate Group (REG) loans generally consist of non-owner occupied CRE loans $1,000,000 and greater. .Â
How you will spend your time:Â Â
- Partner with REG Lenders and Portfolio Managers 2/3 to effectively administer the management of a variety of REG banking relationships.
- Perform credit analysis, covenant monitoring and annual review duties for prospective/existing client relationships, which may include but are not limited to the following: perform detailed credit analysis to determine borrower/guarantor repayment capacity,, provide detailed industry and market analysis, and complete credit packages for credit committee approval.. Assistance in the preparation of loan proposals, which will include collateral analysis on multiple asset classes and preparation of pricing and risk rating models suitable for each credit request.
- Assist in the monitoring/documentation of covenant compliance in Capital Stream and Optimist. Work within protocols and maintain tracking of documentation exceptions, past dues, and covenant exceptions.
- Recognize and elevate warning signs for any customer/loan on a timely basis, which may include but are not limited to the following: analyze borrower/property/guarantor financial performance upon receipt of reporting requirements, either monthly, quarterly, semi-annually or annually. Fully analyze and confirm financial and tested covenant compliance, analyze performance trends against internal and industry standards; and perform annual reviews as scheduled.
- Provide recurring customer service to existing and prospective clients, which may include direct contact with customers either through participation in joint sales calls with loan officers or direct correspondence with clients and perform various projects/tasks as needed with an emphasis on maintaining UMB TUCE at all times.
- File all required reports, and resolve all related issues in a timely and efficient manner.

- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, CRE or related fields
- 1+ years banking or equivalent regulatory/bank policy experience including credit analysis
- Current valid driver’s license
- Demonstrates strong analytical skills
- Demonstrates strong communication skills (verbal & written)
- Demonstrates strong level of understanding of credit underwriting
- Demonstrates ability to interpret policies/procedures, loan contracts, and understanding of credit reports, financial statements and loan documents
- Demonstrates knowledge of bank products, services, and bank operations
- Demonstrates ability to be self-starter and show initiative
- Demonstrates proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Demonstrates familiarity with commercial lending software

- 3 years banking or equivalent regulatory/bank policy experience (including 1+ years of specific commercial real estate underwriting experience
- Ability to prospect and network at various levels within a company
Compensation Range:
