Requisition Summary

Vehicle Software Engineer is accountable for the end-to-end readiness, integration, and delivery of the BEV vehicle software across all ECUs. This role will coordinate software content and dependencies, and guide execution to the customers. The engineer will work closely with ECU owners, software release and DAVIE, testing, production and field validation teams to identify and resolve risk, improve software release quality and ensure positive customer experience. The role will also build strong internal expertise in software flashing and troubleshooting for all applicable ECUs.

Job Responsibilities

  • Own vehicle-level software readiness across all ECUs, ensuring software meets plant and customer expectations
  • Ensure software release milestones and integration schedule are maintained
  • Coordinate software features, dependencies, and interactions across ECUs to ensure successful vehicle-level integration
  • Lead vehicle level Go/NoGo reviews and hold ECU owners accountable for software content, validation evidence, defect status, and release commitments
  • Monitor integration risks, blockers, and open defects; escalate issues as needed.
  • Develop and maintain expertise in vehicle software flashing
  • Drive continuous improvement of software release quality, processes, and customer experience using lessons learned from development, production, and field performance
  • Up to 10% travel can be expected 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering Computer Science, System Engineering, or a related engineering field
  • 7+ years of experience in automotive engineering or related field
  • Understanding of vehicle electrical architecture, ECUs, CAN/CAN-FD, automotive communication networks
  • Experience with software development, validation, and defect management
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with vehicle software flashing and diagnostics tool such as Vector CANoe/CANalyzer, ETAS, or equivalent
  • PMP, Agile or other project/program certification
  • Direct experience leading vehicle-level software integration and release activities across multiple ECUs
