Billing Specialist

ROLE SUMMARY: 

The Billing Specialist is responsible for the timely and accurate issuing of invoices to clients of VLS Environmental Solutions. The Billing Specialist role is critical in providing the client with the invoice and supporting documentation to the client, as well as being a point of contact for the client when questions arise related to the billings. Attention to detail, organization and good communication skills are critical to the role. 

JOB DUTIES

•Critical thinking and review to ensure accurate and timely billing to VLS’s clients.
•Assumes responsibility for effectively researching, tracking, and resolving (or referring) accounting documentation problems and discrepancies
•Returns telephone messages within 24 hours of receipt; returns email messages in a timely manner as appropriate
•Participates in proactive team efforts to achieve department and company goals
•Promotes and maintains the confidentiality of financial and other data
•Reviews Account General Ledger coding for correctness and reasonableness
•Occasionally places journal entries
•Processes various reports for month end closing
•Improves the current process for billing in our software
•Complies with safety policies, practices and procedures and reports unsafe conditions
•The Billing specialist should promote positive, professional relationships with co-workers and clients, vendors, and partners

Requirements: 

•High school diploma
•2+ years of experience in Billing and accounting software programs
•Proficiency in accounting software
•Proficiency in MS Office
