Operations Manager
Bilingual English/Spanish and Driver's License Required
Location: Culver City, CA
Job Type: Full-time, hourly
Pay: $26-$28 per hour, depending on experience, plus applicable overtime. Higher compensation may be considered for qualified/excellent candidates.
Schedule: Monday through Friday, approximately 40 hours per week. Early-morning availability (7:30am) is required, and occasional overtime may be necessary based on business needs.
About the Position
Molly Maid of Playa Vista is seeking a dependable, hands-on Operations Manager to help lead the daily operations of a busy residential cleaning company serving the greater Los Angeles area.
We operate approximately eight to nine cleaning routes, complete 135–150 cleanings each week, and serve more than 300 recurring customers. This position is central to keeping our teams organized, our customers informed, and our daily schedule running smoothly.
This is not strictly a desk position. The Operations Manager must be comfortable working in the office, directing field teams, driving company vehicles, visiting customer homes, assisting with training and quality inspections, and occasionally helping in the field when operationally necessary.
Primary Responsibilities
Daily Operations and Team Deployment
- Coordinate the morning deployment of cleaning teams from our Culver City office.
- Confirm employee attendance and respond quickly to call-outs, late arrivals, vehicle problems, schedule changes, and other day-of issues.
- Make route and staffing adjustments to minimize customer disruptions.
- Ensure teams leave with the correct schedules, keys, phones, equipment, towels, and cleaning supplies.
- Communicate daily instructions and customer requests clearly in both English and Spanish.
- Monitor team progress throughout the day and assist with operational issues as they arise.
- Help ensure company vehicles, equipment, and office access procedures are properly managed.
Scheduling and Dispatch
- Help prepare and review daily and future schedules.
- Assign teams based on availability, location, job requirements, timing, and employee capabilities.
- Communicate arrival windows, delays, schedule changes, and special instructions to customers.
- Maintain accurate customer notes, employee information, and scheduling records.
- Coordinate with company ownership regarding capacity, route efficiency, staffing needs, and customer priorities.
Employee Leadership
- Provide clear daily direction, coaching, and accountability to cleaning team members.
- Assist with recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training new employees.
- Conduct office orientation and support in-home and field training.
- Address routine attendance, performance, communication, and workplace issues promptly and professionally.
- Help document employee conversations, training, incidents, and performance concerns.
- Promote teamwork, reliability, professionalism, safety, and respectful communication.
- Escalate serious employee or compliance matters to ownership.
Customer Service and Quality Assurance
- Respond professionally to customer questions, concerns, complaints, and special requests.
- Help resolve service issues calmly and efficiently.
- Conduct quality inspections and customer follow-up when needed.
- Visit customer homes to review cleaning requirements, support teams, or address service concerns.
- Help maintain the company’s high standards for dependability, professionalism, and cleaning quality.
- Support the company’s 24-hour service warranty and coordinate necessary return visits.
Field Support
- Drive company vehicles as part of regular job responsibilities.
- Transport employees, supplies, equipment, or vehicles when operationally necessary.
- Step into the field to assist with training, quality control, estimates, or occasional cleaning coverage.
- Safely enter customer homes and demonstrate proper cleaning methods and company procedures.
- Report vehicle accidents, damage, theft, mechanical concerns, or moving violations immediately.
Office and Administrative Support
- Answer calls and communicate with customers by phone, text, and email.
- Support estimates, customer follow-up, payment collection, and account documentation.
- Maintain organized operational and personnel records.
- Assist with timekeeping process and payroll-related information
- Monitor cleaning supplies, towels, equipment, uniforms, and inventory.
- Help coordinate the cleaning, folding, organization, replenishment, and distribution of company towels and supplies.
- Identify operational problems and recommend practical improvements.
Required Qualifications
- Fluent in both English and Spanish.
- Previous experience supervising employees or coordinating daily operations.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Able to remain calm and make sound decisions when schedules change or unexpected problems occur.
- Comfortable managing multiple teams, customers, and priorities at the same time.
- Dependable, punctual, professional, and willing to take ownership of problems.
- Comfortable working in an active, hands-on small-business environment.
- Basic proficiency with computers, email, text messaging, Microsoft Office, and scheduling or dispatch software.
- Valid California driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Must meet company automobile-insurance requirements, including having held a valid driver’s license for at least two years.
- Reliable transportation to and from the Culver City office.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
Physical and Field Requirements
- Able to drive throughout the company’s Los Angeles service area.
- Able to enter customer homes and work around common household cleaning products.
- Able to bend, reach, walk, climb stairs, and remain active for extended periods.
- Able to lift and carry cleaning supplies or equipment weighing approximately 25–30 pounds.
- Willing and able to demonstrate cleaning procedures or provide occasional field support when necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in residential cleaning, home services, hospitality, dispatch, logistics, field services, or a similar operation.
- Experience as a restaurant manager or assistant manager, particularly overseeing hourly employees, shift coverage, customer service, and fast-moving daily operations.
- Experience managing hourly employees and field-based teams.
- Experience with recruiting, onboarding, employee coaching, and customer complaint resolution.
- Familiarity with payroll, scheduling, routing, CRM, or franchise-management systems.
