Location: On-site at our Puyallup, WA site
Hours: Full-time, Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm
Compensation: Starting Wage $17.13
Wage Range: $17.13-$17.13

The Position:

The Body Sander completes the final stages of the Body Manufacturing process, ensuring each guitar body is either ready to be painted or shipped out to the customer, as is. They will prepare the bodies rough wooden surface by smoothing and shaping it to achieve a flawless texture, with careful attention to detail to meet part specifications and uphold the craftsmanship of the instrument. This position's responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Using a variety of sanding techniques to include hand, flat, pull strip, etc.
  • Cutting routing channels
  • Drilling wire channels
  • Operating a router
  • Shaping the body and blending its contours
  • Smoothing imperfections on the body using a variety of techniques

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year of relevant woodworking, fast paced production, and manufacturing experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • A thorough knowledge of:
  • a variety of electric sanders, other electric tools and hand tools
  • Able to:
  • stand and occasionally walk for an 8-hour period
  • bend, reach and twist upper and lower body
  • move items up to 50 lbs.
  • stay focused and alert while performing repetitive tasks
  • work at a quick pace while maintaining superior quality standards
  • maintain hand-eye coordination and finger dexterity for an 8-hour period
  • maintain good vision to include close vision and depth perception for an 8-hour period

Working Environment: This position does not supervise other positions. It is full-time, onsite, Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The work location for this position is manufacturing and may experience a loud and/or dusty environment. This work area is not temperature controlled and may experience higher temperatures in the summer. This individual will primarily work independently but may interact with team members as needed throughout the day.
