Do you enjoy turning complex technical information into clear, useful resources that help people solve problems faster? Johnson Health Tech North America is looking for a Technical Documentation Specialist II to help shape the way our teams, technicians, and customers understand and support our fitness equipment. In this role, you’ll combine technical curiosity, hands-on problem solving, and strong communication skills to create documentation, service bulletins, visuals, and videos that make an impact across the business.

What You’ll Help Build

  • Lead technical documentation projects and drive them through completion.
  • Create, update, and organize service bulletins, assembly instructions, troubleshooting guides, and support materials.
  • Develop photos, drawings, sketches, diagrams, and videos that make technical procedures easier to follow.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to gather accurate information and keep documentation current.
  • Support new product launches by ensuring technical support teams have the information they need.
  • Maintain feedback loops with internal teams, suppliers, technicians, and customers to continuously improve documentation quality.


Requirements


What You Bring

  • Associate’s degree required; bachelor’s degree in a technical or communication-related field preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a technical-related field; fitness equipment experience is a plus.
  • Strong technical writing skills, including experience creating step-by-step assembly or service documents.
  • Hands-on aptitude for assembling, troubleshooting, repairing, testing, or supporting equipment.
  • Experience working with customer, technician, or field feedback to improve processes and materials.
  • Valid driver’s license required for local travel; successful completion of pre-employment and annual MVR checks required to drive on behalf of the company.

Tools, Skills, and Strengths That Will Help You Thrive

  • Expert-level Microsoft Office skills, especially Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Advanced knowledge of SAP or similar systems.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Visio for troubleshooting documents.
  • Ability to learn new software and identify better ways to create, manage, and share documentation.
  • Strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, initiative, and comfort working through ambiguity.
  • Clear communication style and the ability to collaborate with a wide variety of teams and personalities.

Work Environment

This is an on-site role based at our JHTNA Headquarters in Cottage Grove, WI. The position primarily works in a normal office environment with moderate noise levels and regular interaction with team members. The role may occasionally require standing, walking, or lifting up to 15 pounds.
