Job DetailsJob Location: Corinth MS - Corinth, MS 38834Position Type: Full TimeJob Category: Facilities  JOB SUMMARY:  The Plant Safety Monitor is responsible for the safety, security and orderly use of company parking areas.  This position provides a visible presence to deter unauthorized activity, assists employees and visitors with parking needs and reports any concerns, hazards or violations to the appropriate personnel.   ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS  (Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.) Monitor parking areas to ensure safe and orderly vehicle movement Observe and report suspicious activity, safety hazards or violations to local EHS, HR or law enforcement  Assist Employees, visitors and contractors with directions, parking locations and general inquiries Conduct routine inspections of parking lots, lighting, walkways and signage Document incidents and report findings to management or authorities Escort employees or visitors to/from vehicles when requested and appropriate Support traffic flow during peak times, events or emergencies Coordinate with EHS, Leadership and maintenance to address parking concerns Respond to safety issues such as spills, obstructions or weather-related hazards Maintain a professional and helpful presence at all times Check in/out trucks for deliveries Conduct periodic walking inspections throughout the facility to ensure doors and access points are properly secured and to report unauthorized access, unsafe conditions, or security concerns.  Qualifications  MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS  High school diploma or GED required. Strong observational and communication skills. Ability to remain alert, professional, and courteous. Ability to walk or stand for extended periods and work in various weather conditions. Basic computer skills for completing reports (if required). Must pass any required background checks.     PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS  Prior experience in security, monitoring, customer service, or a related field preferred.     PHYSICAL DEMANDS The employee is required to sit; use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, talk, hear, and see.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or reach with hands and arms.  The environment is fast-paced; time pressured, primarily works outdoors with exposure to varying weather conditions, and requires accuracy and safety awareness.  The employee will regularly multi-task between projects, be required to move throughout the office building, production area, and effectively communicate.  The normal environment is moderately loud and may at times be louder in some areas.   The statements on this job description are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by incumbents.
