Job Title: Tarter Tank Team Lead 

SUMMARY  
The Team Lead will oversee daily operational functions of various stations within the plant. This leader is responsible for guiding and motivating team members to achieve production-oriented goals and deliver high-quality results. This role involves problem-solving, providing clear direction, and ensuring effective communication within the team. The Team Lead supports the development of team members through mentoring, training, and feedback, while also monitoring performance and resolving issues that arise. Key responsibilities include delegating tasks, setting priorities, troubleshooting challenges, and fostering collaboration to meet production standards. The team lead must be versatile and ready to step into various roles as needed, ensuring smooth operations and maintaining productivity when a team member is absent. 

Essential Functions  
The following functions are essential to the role (other duties may be assigned by management, and specific duties may vary based on the requirements of each Tarter site and the strengths of the employee): 

  1. Provide clear guidance, set expectations, and communicate goals to ensure team alignment and productivity.
  1. Utilize problem-solving skills to address and resolve any challenges or obstacles that arise within the team.
  1. Monitor team performance, provide regular feedback, and identify opportunities for improvement and skill development.
  1. Delegate tasks and responsibilities effectively, ensuring work is distributed according to individual strengths and team needs.
  1. Ensure production is met by managing time and resources efficiently, while maintaining high-quality standards.
  1. Track progress against key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide regular updates to senior management.
  1. Act as a liaison between the team and upper management, advocating for team needs and ensuring alignment with company goals.
  1. Resolve conflicts or issues within the team in a constructive and professional manner.
  1. Ensure that daily, weekly, and monthly preventive measure processes are being carried out.
  1. Must be able to provide flexible support by filling in for absent team members across various positions, ensuring continuous workflow and maintaining team productivity.

 

QUALIFICATIONS  
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:  
Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills are required. The Team Lead must conduct job duties in an ethical and professional manner. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS 

  1. Safety Standards and Compliance: Knowledge of Tarter safety regulations and best practices, including OSHA guidelines, and the ability to ensure a safe working environment for the team.
  1. Machine Operation and Maintenance: Understanding of the operation and maintenance of bending machines, presses, and other equipment used in the bender station.
  1. Problem-Solving Techniques: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to machine malfunctions, material defects, or production delays.
  1. Team Development: Understanding how to assess team performance, provide feedback, and coach team members to improve technical skills and work efficiency.
  1. Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changes in production demands, machine setup requirements, and unexpected challenges while maintaining high productivity levels.
  1. Training and Mentorship: Ability to train new employees, provide ongoing support to the team, and promote continuous improvement in skills and processes.
  1. Team Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively with other teams (e.g., maintenance, engineering, and quality control) to ensure smooth production operations.
  1. Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail to ensure the accuracy and quality of all products being produced and to catch errors before they become larger issues.
  1. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to ensure clear instructions are given and to facilitate coordination with other departments (e.g., production, quality control, engineering).

Fast-paced assembly line environment. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
