Job Description

The Superintendent III is responsible for leading and directing field construction activities on complex Life Sciences and Food & Beverage Advanced Manufacturing projects. This role serves as the primary field leader for discipline-specific scopes or major project work packages, ensuring safe, high-quality, and efficient execution in accordance with project objectives.

The Superintendent III manages subcontractors, trade partners, field engineers, and craft personnel while driving schedule performance, productivity, quality, commissioning readiness, and safety compliance. This position operates with limited oversight and is expected to independently lead discipline-specific scopes ranging from approximately $2M-$10M+ while proactively identifying and resolving construction challenges.

The Superintendent III plays a key role in coordinating with Project Managers, Design Managers, Construction Managers, Commissioning teams, Owners, and trade partners to ensure successful project execution

Responsibilities:

  • Direct and manage all assigned field construction activities to ensure work is executed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with contract documents. 
  • Lead complex construction scopes and discipline-specific work packages with limited oversight. 
  • Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, trade partners, craft personnel, and field support staff. 
  • Develop and execute construction sequencing, work plans, and look-ahead schedules to support overall project objectives.
  • Champion CRB's safety culture by ensuring compliance with all company, client, and regulatory safety requirements.
  • Drive quality execution through field inspections, installation verification, and proactive resolution of deficiencies.
  • Monitor labor productivity, manpower utilization, and field performance to achieve project goals.
  • Identify and resolve constructability, coordination, and field execution challenges in collaboration with project stakeholders.
  • Coordinate project activities with Project Managers, Design Managers, Engineers, Commissioning teams, and Owners.
  • Support commissioning, startup, system turnover, and project closeout activities.
  • Utilize project management and field technology platforms to document progress, track issues, and communicate project status. 
  • Review drawings, specifications, and subcontract documents to ensure field compliance and identify potential risks. 
  • Mentor and develop Assistant Superintendents, Project Engineers, and junior field leadership personnel.
  • Maintain positive relationships with clients, inspectors, and trade partners while representing CRB professionally.
  • Promote Lean Construction principles and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and industry experience.
  • 15+ years of construction experience.
  • Demonstrated experience leading field construction activities on complex industrial, Life Sciences, Mission Critical, Pharmaceutical, or Advanced Manufacturing projects.
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Mechanical systems
    • Electrical systems
    • Process systems
    • Construction means and methods
    • Commissioning and turnover processes
  • Proven success managing subcontractors and trade coordination.
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred.
  • Preferred Experience

  • Design-Build or EPCM project delivery.
  • Life Sciences and pharmaceutical facilities.
  • GMP manufacturing environments.
  • Data Center or Mission Critical construction.
  • Lean Construction and Last Planner System experience.
  • BIM/VDC coordination experience.
  • Startup, commissioning, and CQV support experience.
