The Ohio Education Association is seeking a person for a challenging and rewarding position as a Membership Specialist. The Membership Specialist is a critical role in the organization responsible for providing concierge-level customer service to our members, reconciling, and processing membership data, gathering membership information, ensuring data accuracy, and maintaining documentation.Â
Essential Functions:Â
- Uses current computer software applications and equipment to enter member and other data and process information in accordance with Association policies and proceduresÂ
- Provides customer service to members and callersÂ
- Reconciles customer accounts and makes adjustments according to Association policiesÂ
- Creates and/or maintains documentation via paper and electronic filing systemsÂ
- Initiates contact for the purpose of reconciling local accountsÂ
- Reviews and proofreads data; notes errors or discrepancies; initiates corrective action and follow-upÂ
Significant Duties:Â
- Performs duties via phone and through various software applications
- Provides support for organizing plans and practices for engaging membersÂ
- Maintains confidential records and filesÂ
- Operates in a collaborative team environmentÂ
- Communicates information to managers, co-workers and others in person, by telephone, in written form or e-mailÂ
- Attends staff meetings and trainingsÂ
- Provides input into decision-making as it impacts associate staff functionsÂ
- Assists with development of written documentation for process improvements and training manualsÂ
- Performs basic mathematical calculationsÂ
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalency, associate’s degree preferredÂ
- Familiarity with an accounting environment and/or use of computer systems, databases and computer software applicationsÂ
- Perform accurate data entry into multiple databases
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionallyÂ
- Ability to cross train with other Business Services Division staff within the same position gradeÂ
